Also in the same boat and nothing yet. Part of me does wonder… is the class actually full and 14+ students just didn’t join the GroupMe? Because I wonder why else it would take a lot of time to fill those spots. Not sure what’s going on.

The adcom on Reddit said some schools wait until the last possible minute to accept people because it forces students to lock into their school. It makes sense honestly just sucks for us.

Some schools even accept students first week of classes if issues arise with other admitted students like financing and other extenuating circumstances. It’s not an ideal situation but I don’t believe there will be any hard cut off dates for WL movement until classes start. Also, do we have any idea about if they might give preferential treatment to ppl for next cycle if they’re on the WL for this cycle and don’t get in? Do other med schools do that?

I've heard that as a WL reapplicant, there's more pressure on you to show that you've improved between cycles. I was WL from PCOM and this is what senior students said

I believe the reddit adcom since they've dropped some key info over the last few days, but how realistic is it that the msom wl is 30ish ppl, they expect to accept 20+ ppl off it given movement at other schools... BUT we're a little over a week away from orientation and there's spaces open according to the groupme? I get that people get accepted up to the first day of classes all the time, maybe im a little too fried rn from all the stress but can someone break this down for me because im STILL holding off on a reapp because I dont want to pay to submit my primary if I get off the wl soon. but if I wait to be rejected, that's golden submission time im losing here

I had an incredibly unique situation. I planned on applying in the 2025-2026 cycle and never planned on applying in the 24-25 cycle to begin with, but when MSOM extended their deadline to submit primaries until the end of May i decided to submit an application and see what happened. My stats arent the best and I’m waiting to retake the MCAT in august because I was sick the first time i took it and scored poorly (prob the reason i got rejected), but i met their screening requirements and took a shot. Ended up in a win-win situation cuz even if i did get rejected at least i had the experience for next cycle, but ended up with an interview and WL which I’m not upset about even tho i got rejected. Tbh i was incredibly surprised they gave me an interview in the first place. Good luck to you all though! Rooting for you guys!

You know what, you tried and that’s all that matters!! You’ll get in next year with a higher MCAT and we can all be classmates. Congratulations on the interview and WL. You know your application is competitive for next cycle. I am rooting for you!!
 
Guys, I know we’re wary of the Reddit adcom. But I’ve been watching them reply to other people’s comments and according to them, there were double digit MSOM rejections today and now less than 20 people remain on the WL with 10 or so seats to fill. I know this person may not be entirely accurate, but that gives us some hope.
 
another fatality here my fellow WL soldiers, just submitted my primary LOLLLLL :dead: :dead: :dead: :dead: this was def due to my lowish MCAT, which im also retaking in august.

good luck to everyone else!! sounds like you guys all have a really good chance at the A! I'll miss you guys, but maybe I can join you guys next year:soexcited:

Damn!! I’m sorry to hear that :/ but this year is gonna be the year. Make sure you rock the Baja blast socks on your retake! Lol and hopefully we can all be at Meritus
 
another R over here, a bit bummed, but submitting the primaries today and have an MCAT retake early september! We got it next time around yall! We have this experience under our belts and can get the A's for sure 🫡

I’m sorry to hear that for all of you guys. What’s surprising to me is that I called and said I would prefer a deferred acceptance because of some family issues and i wasn’t part of this mass rejection? The person I spoke to said they’d mark it down in my file, so I’m not sure why I’m still in contention for an A
 
I'm so so confused, can someone quickly explain what happened? Did MSOM reject people on their WL for the 2024-2025 cycle? I didn't even realize that was a thing that schools did...

Yes, they rejected people on WL for 2024-2025. Are you on the WL for 2024-2025?? They’re trying to finalize the class right now. I’m assuming acceptances will come out soon for whoever may be left on the WL.

Thanks for that answer! Yeah, I'm on the WL for 2024-2025 and thankfully did not get that email today. Sorry to those of you that did!

Of course! I’m in the same boat and did not get that email either. I feel like we’re in the dark and don’t know what’s going on. Hopefully we’ll find out soon. I hope to see you at MSOM!

Yeah, I agree being in the dark with this entire process has been incredibly stressful but looks like we are getting to that finish line! Hopefully we will both be at MSOM!

wow, last week or the week before someone had to decline their acceptance because msom wouldn't grant them a deferred acceptance also due to family issues. I think it's a page or two back

Same, and I keep checking my portal every 5 minutes. I was curious about that too.. I’m hoping tomorrow so they have a whole new week to figure out how many spots they have left before orientation.
 
The school’s officially closed for the day, so I highly doubt any new updates are coming today. I think a few people heard updates last Thursday because the Fourth of July was on Friday. But since tomorrow’s not a holiday, there could be some good news coming then? Fingers crossed!

I hope you’re right and they don’t drag this out until next week. And I hope they send it to everyone remaining, not just 3-4 at a time.

This waiting is really tough and getting this close to the start of classes, I’m not sure how they expect people to up and move that quickly. Wishing you the best!
