Called them again to inquire. They said there could be movement up until the end of July. She couldn’t provide any information as to how many were on the WL or if there would be anymore movement today. I figured I might as well try and ask. I spoke with a Jessica. She was very nice but very verbatim response.

up until the end of July? so up until the first day of classes?

I remember some chatter on here a couple pages ago about leases being locked in for the full year, so once you're past the 6/30 deadline, you're responsible for the deposit and rent for the full year even if you don't attend (??). who would take a spot at another school after 6/30 then? maybe in extenuating circumstances they might have a student drop between now and end of July, but that just seems so unlikely to me. and it's so annoying to make us wait the additional month when they know their class is full.

im now in the anger phase (I JUST WANT AN ANSWERRR PLZZZ I NEED TO GET A JOB LOL)

whoa apparently they only sent out As to the top 20% of the WL and the rest will be decided next week? they gotta have insider info (at least now I know im in the bottom 80% of the WL LOLLL).

can someone explain the domino effect of the wave of As from LECOM? does that mean that people are going to get off the WL at LECOM next week and drop their MSOM seats? but isnt everyone that's locked in for an MSOM seat already signed the lease agreement, so they can't back out after 6/30 without being responsible for the first year? im not sure THEMEBIG6731 knows about the 6/30 deadline
 
bro they know stuff about other schools too and give broad advice to applicants across all the premed subs... imagine they're on ADCOM somewhere

imma DM them LOL. they also said that the 'continued interest' email from 2 weeks ago were only sent to the top 1/3 of the WL... if only 20% of the WL made it in today (say, cola and maybe 4 other people) then theoretically the WL is 25 people. (THIS IS JUST AN ARBITRARY NUMBER) doesn't that seem kind of short for a WL, especially given how so many people were WL this spring?

Bruh up until the end of July….how do they expect people to just up and move their whole life that quick. That’s insaneeee. Also I currently have a full career and need to give them two weeks notice so I’m not sure how that would work🫤 this is soooo stressful!!! The process needs to be changed so that there is a definite deadline of when people have to commit to prevent this.

I don’t even know right now.. I am currently accepted at Touro and need to sign a lease for an apartment but have been holding off for MSOM. I don’t understand the hold up. People have lives they gotta figure out. She was so vague with me and just said it’s a ranked waitlist. She seemed to know exactly who I was too and I only gave her my first name. It makes me think she was looking at a list of those on the WL or something. Just weird processes going on here.

I just did some diving. Very interesting that they think 50% of MSOMs waitlist will get in, even if not given an email today. All of their “predictions” are wild. How do they know?!?

Very weird. Not only am in worrying, my husband is too. This is our whole life on the line right now and determines decisions we need to make, but we can’t make without knowing my acceptance status 😅

Right?? And they made the comment that everyone who got that email would be accepted first, but other people received that continued interest email who weren’t accepted today. So how do they know that?? Yesterday, they predicted 1/3 of the WL but today it’s 20%?? What’s with the change.

I’m so sorry, you have a whole family to consider. I’m fortunate to only have to worry about me. It’s just crazy they can do this to us.

I know lots of conflicting information out there. I got the email but haven’t gotten accepted yet today. I’m just trusting that everything will work out how it is supposed to!

That gives me some peace of mind since I didn’t get that email. I’m rooting for all of us on here to become classmates!

2. there's no point in knowing how long the WL is as it's a dynamic number that depends on movement from other schools.
3. there will be more As coming from MSOM in the next two weeks.
4. it's too difficult to enforce the full year lease if someone doesn't enroll, the court will throw it out and the most they'll lose is their deposit.
5. "class being full will be an inaccurate statement until the end of orientation and classes start."

with all this in mind, then there has to be some merit to them saying that only the top 1/3 of the WL got that "continued interest" email 2 weeks ago and how the top 20% of the WL was accepted today. they also posted that MSOM expects to accept around 50% of the WL... so I guess it's looking good for us. waiting an additional 2 weeks is agonizing though.

You should ask how many people are currently accepted as of today, or like the total the last time they checked

I wonder if they will be able to answer if the rest of the MSOM WL people who are not accepted this cycle will be likely to get acceptances for next year.

I would recommend taking any and all of this info with a grain of salt. Im not saying it’s 100% false, but i know many people on ADCOMs in undergrad and grad offices and the one thing they have all told me is to be aware of things like this. For members of ADCOMs, posting inside information like this is a fireable offense because most ADCOMs require you to sign NDAs, and all kinds of other sensitivity agreements. I cant imagine someone on an ADCOM claiming to know all this stuff would risk their entire career to share this info. I get that its a crazy time for all of us, but especially with how much everyone has hanging on these admissions decisions its easy to be encouraged/discouraged by information that is not factually accurate, and my advice to you all is to stay patient and keep your hopes high. At the end of the day, we are all here to achieve a common goal which is to become outstanding physicians, but being patient is a big part of that. I have faith that all of us will get there, just stay patient and optimistic. Good luck guys!

after some deep diving - they commented in another post that the current MSOM waitlist is about 30 people after the few A's that were given out yesterday. Take it with a grain of salt, but fingers crossed for us these next weeks yall :')

only 30? I feel like there are so many people taking abt wl on this thread.
 
Wow, just 30?? That gives us on the WL a lot of hope as LMU’s and LECOM’s WL will probably go wild next week which might clear up some space here.
 
themebig6731 sounds like they know their **** judging by all their posts, but does anyone feel like this feels too good to be true? that they'll accept another 15ish people off the WL (since they said ytd that msom plans to accept at least half their WL)? do schools like LECOM and LMU normally have massive WL movement?
 
I am personally on LMU’s WL as well and see people coming and going pretty regularly. I know so many people waiting for LMU even on the MSOM WL who will attend LMU instead. I can’t speak for LECOM. Others are waiting for NOORDA. I think we might see some stuff happen early next week. LMU was closed yesterday and today so didn’t have any movement.
 
Hi all! I’m new here and have been on the WL for months. I wanted to add that I also received an email ~3 weeks ago about continued interest, but I didn’t hear any decision yet. I wonder when we can expect to hear something. Today would be nice! Hoping for good news for us all, regardless of whether or not you received that email!
 
anything yet? orientation starts the 21st... I still have to pack up my apartment and actually make plans to move down there
