awwww.... how about RD who only applied to UH? LOL anyway is there a certain date for RD to hear back from 11/20 interview?

Aww haha well since there are so many RD interview dates, there are lots of RD students who get in! Do not lose hope! Unfortunately, there is no date that the RD will hear back, but usually 3-4 weeks is the average.

I got a denial. Really sad right now but I'm preparing for my interview with UNT. Good luck to everyone of you.

I'm really sorry. Although I don't know you personally, I still believe you're probably a wonderful applicant and person. It's their loss, not yours. Good luck in life!

Dang they said both ED and RD (I'm RD) will hear back today if we interviewed Oct. 9 maybe they will send it later today? But they are probably worrying about ED first. I'm so nervous!

Congratulations!!! hard work pays off! my interview is on 11/20, getting nervous....

I was so pumped I already signed and turned in all required documents. As well as paid for background check and seat deposit

I got accepted, too! They sure replied fast, it has only been a week yet since my interview Oct. 16. I'm super excited!!! I cant wait to see you all next year. Congrats to everyone else who got accepted. It sure is a wonderful feeling

Congrats! Hope to see you again.

@romaniangirl Can you tell me the class schedule for P1? What time do classes start and end in the fall and spring semester?

Overall, our classes are 1pm to 4 pm (5 pm on tuesdays) this semester; however, we have some labs in the mornings on various days. These vary week by week and the times vary as well. Sometimes the labs are 8-12 and other times it's just 12-1, so it just depends. The P1s have lectures in the afternoon and labs in the morning while the P2s have lectures in the morning and labs in the afternoon. If you plan on working during the school year, it will pretty much have to be the weekend, and usually Sunday because on Saturdays they expect to start doing health fairs starting second semester.

Congrats to all of you who were accepted! This is a major accomplishment, and I know that you will do great in pharmacy school! Get some celebrating done, then back to work lol 🙂

What are we supposed to do at health fairs? lol

My B.S is in biotechnology so I'm very interested in entering the pharmacy industry later. However, I'm not passionate enough about research to pursue a dual Pharm.D/Ph.D in pharmaceutical although I was encouraged to. I was hoping to do some research with my molecular biology professor just for the experience, but looks like it'll be hard to set up a fixed schedule. Hopefully I can work around it.

At the health fairs you will be doing blood pressure, glucose screenings, cholesterol screenings, diabetic foot exams, and PAD screenings. No worries-they will teach you all of this the first semester in the skills labs.

Yes, your schedule will be different each and every week, but we do have students who work quite a few hours in a research lab so it can be done! Just make sure it doesn't take over your schoolwork! Pharmacy school is a whole 'nother world. Almost all of us did not study at all in undergrad (not even for orgo) and we study day and night now. The material is not difficult; it's just an insane amount for each exam. We have an exam pretty much every week, plus all of the other activities and labs, and if you work/do research, you may find that you don't have enough time to study adequately (happened to me this week actually. Now I'm cramming for our exam on Tuesday :/ ). But if you set your mind to it, I promise you can find the time for the things you love!

Are you currently doing research?

Are you currently doing research?

Right now at the moment, I am not. I am working and doing some shadowing at the moment, and trying to keep my grades up lol. I plan on starting some clinical research possibly next semester.

I'm having a mixed feeling right now. Should I go to UH which I really want to or should I go to UNT to be close to my husband if he get accepted to UT Southwestern Med school? I heard that school reputation is not that important if one decides to go retail. Things would be so simple if he choose to go to UTH. But with his super high MCAT score 99 and 4.0 GPA it would be a step back for him to go to UTH. Should I make the sacrifice?

Is there any reason he hasn't applied to Baylor? Baylor and UT SW are pretty much on the same par with each other. Either way, if you are planning on retail, it really doesn't matter what pharmacy school you go to, as long as you have a PharmD and a state license.

oh! then where does most UHCOP grad go? Clinical? or like grocery store retail? :0

UHCOP mostly does retail, but still has a good number that do a residency (like 15-20 per class). They push really hard for clinical, but I think a lot of people just get tired towards the end and want a good paying job so they choose to go retail, but the class structure is really geared towards clinical pharmacy.

Do you have class on Friday? I was looking at an old schedule from 2014 entering class and it looked like there was no class on Friday?

Nope! No Friday classes, though there might be 1-2 required Labs throughout the semester that fall on a Friday.
