I sure went off of that... haha. Should be correct! When I called yesterday, I was told that the portals would be updated by the weekend. 👍 CONGRATS!Are we going off of this?
Interview Confirmation Status: Interview scheduled for 2/10/14 - Please e-mail your response to official letter mailed 1/10/14, to accept or decline the interview.
I'm afraid to celebrate, is their portal reliable?
If so then woohoo... If not, I want to have that letter in my hands before celebrating.

No mail but checked the portal and received the interview invitation!!! Thanks for the info Goldengirl90 🙂Yep, thin white letter. They said we should regularly check the interview website for details - http://vetmed.illinois.edu/asa/applicant_interviews.html
Good luck everyone! 🙂
Last year I was interviewed by 3 people who knew nothing about me. It's pretty relaxed, but they ask you some personal questions and then some hypothetical questions. I was done in 20 minutes I think.Does anyone know what the format of the interview is like? I just heard that it is a large group interview but did not receive much more information. Congratulations to everyone who received interviews!

I got an interview!!!! so excited! does anyone know about how many people get interviews? I couldn't find anything on their website.
Congrats to everyone else who got an interview 🙂
I think when I applied they said they interviewed like 300 people.
Thank you PurpleMonkey 🙂 I am OOS, so that definitely makes me nervous haha.
Pretty bummed to say I got bad news this weekend. I really thought I was a good fit for this school 🙁. I have a hunch that I didn't have enough hours in. Good luck to everyone with interviews!!!
sorry pinkpup 🙁 I hope you hear some good news soon from your IS and other schools 🙂
I wanted my mom to come because my grandpa lives close by and I've never met him but she's baby sitting my sisters 3 kids during that time so I'll be flying solo :-(Also guys, idk if anyone else saw this, but it looks like there is a 75%/25% break down of Phase II/Interview importance....so I guess form this point GPA/GRE are completely unimportant, and they're evaluating us from the "soft" side of our application (the 75%) and the interview (25%).......
Also...is anyone bringing their parents?.....of course, not to the interview, but to Urbana if your OOS?
Can you expand on why you are thinking the GRE isn't important at this phase if it counts for 75%? I am trying to evaluate how important the interview is now. is it only 25%? Or did the first cut deal with the gre/gpa and now it is only based on interview? good luck to you all and trying to read the tea leaves for likelihood of admission to schools! Also guys, idk if anyone else saw this, but it looks like there is a 75%/25% break down of Phase II/Interview importance....so I guess form this point GPA/GRE are completely unimportant, and they're evaluating us from the "soft" side of our application (the 75%) and the interview (25%).......

Once you get an interview invite you are then evaluated on your extracurriculars and your interview in 75/25 break down. The evaluation criteria are posted on Illinois website. Can you expand on why you are thinking the GRE isn't important at this phase if it counts for 75%? I am 30 years old and it made my mom's day when I asked her along for the ride for my interview. It was fun to have her there just to catch a glimpse into what I would be doing with the next four years of my life. 🙂My mom and dad want to come (which might be weird because I'm almost 30 lol- but I want them to come!). So they will be with me during the day, except for my interview. On last years interview thread people said that parents are welcome at talks and on tours.

Orca2011, what advice would you give to do well in the interview now that you're able to look back on it?I personally completely bombed my interview. Like I could see the low scores they were writing down bombed. Behavioral based interviewing is not my thing yet. Anywho, I ended up getting wait listed, which I was surprised about. About a week after the April 15th deadline, I received a call and was offered a spot, so I imagine I couldn't have been too far down on the wait list since I heard early.
Based on that website, it definitely looks like the interview is only 25% of their decision. The GRE is included in phase I, which is why it is no longer a factor in how they decide. Once you make it past Phase I (the academic portion) it's 75% on experience, extracurricular and whatever else is listed on the site and 25% based on the interview (thank god for that).
