Whoop whoop!
Well on that note, is anyone up for dinner afterwards? =D

So does this mean they're no longer looking at our grades for an acceptance or do grades still play a role in how they pick the ones that get in?

I'm still kind of confused about how the phases work. Are interviews given out based on Phase 1 & phase 2, then acceptances are Phase 2 & Phase 3?
Or are interviews Phase 1 only, and acceptances are Phase 2 & Phase 3?
I forgot to mention, I'm from the Champaign-Urbana area (about a 15 minute drive from the school, tops) so if anyone needs a place to stay just let me know!
Yes, this is what I was told by Dr. Foreman when I met with him. From what students have said here, it sounds like the offer of interview is made based off of a combination of Phase I and Phase II scores. After the interview, phase I scores aren't used in the admissions decision because it's assumed that all the students who qualified for an interview meet the benchmark expectations of an academically qualified candidate.
There's definitely people who have below-average (for veterinary schools) GPAs who were admitted before. I'm sure that's because they stood out during Phase II. That'll be a huge advantage coming into the interview since your Phase II score is the largest factor in the final decision.

I've never been happier to be on the low GPA team. :')
I've never been more sad to have a high GPA! 😕

I haven't heard anything either way. How are rejections sent out? Email?
Well you shouldn't be sad. You got an interview too! 🙂
Don't be! Your GPA has nothing to do with how well or how poorly you did in Phase II. Everyone, high GPA and low alike, has a shot at admission. High GPA candidates are equally as likely to have an excellent phase II score. Phase II is simply non-academic factors like your vet experience, extracurriculars and beyond.
Everyone who got an interview offer has a chance at admission.
You guys are right...logic is hard sometimes!
Good luck to everyone!
My rejection came via snail mail, then my portal updated later (I can't remember how much later).I just wanted to respond to this before it got buried. Rejections might be sent by mail. People who were in the first batch said they got letters in the mail. This is the first year that interview invites were sent out through e-mail. There's also the chance that they're waiting to send out rejections until the know who's accepting invites and who's declining. That way, if there's spots open they can offer it to someone else. I'm not absolutely sure on that. I'd probably keep an eye on the mailbox if you don't hear anything though.
Mine too! I got an invite around noon today! My portal is updated!
I live about a half hour north of the school but I go in early on Mondays for wildlife so I'm always on campus by 8am.@cloverbug I might take you up on that. I live at Purdue right now, so I'm not sure whether I want to drive in the morning or not.
