Ok guys, let's play a game!!

What was your fave thing about Mizzou?!?

I agree with MnW on everything she said, there was definitely a lot to love! I think the best thing was how the faculty interacted with the students like friends. I think it's awesome the professors and faculty take the time to be not only accessible but also just down to earth with the students!

Mizzou isn't cheaper than my in-state (although it's very well priced for OOS) so it's going to be a hard decision if I get into both schools... but I definitely think it would be a great fit and I think leaving my home state would be good for me because my college is really just down the road from my parents.

Agreed. I've lived in the same town my whole life and go to school 2 1/2 hrs away; I'm definitely ready for a change!

Mizzou was not cheaper than my IS school, either- only the first year is more expensive (by about 30k). But, I still don't regret my it! I did get waitlisted at my IS school and I declined my other interview offers after I was accepted here. I do wish I was closer to home, but most of the time, that is not going to be an option. My IS was where I did my undergrad and I loved it in Blacksburg. Having said that, I did not get the same feeling when I interviewed there... not even close. Sure, I do wish I could be 3 hours away from home again instead of 14, but I love it here and I make do with my pups.

Hello everyone! Long-time follower, first-time poster - but I did have a question for you all. Does anyone, recent interviewees or current students, remember who they interviewed with? Thank you, and good luck!

I don't remember their names! I'm sorry! They were all women though. That probably doesn't help 🙂

I feel the same way. I came out of the interview feeling like I did great, but the more I thought about it I realized I messed up a few questions at the beginning. Closer to the end of the interview, I got it together and started doing well. I just hope I did good enough and they could look past my nervous mess ups.

Yea I'm just going to try not to overthink it because we can't really change anything now that it's over with. But I hope we hear back soon!

anyone else feel like they could have answered some of the questions better in the interview, or was it just me? 😳
I thought my interview went really well, but I still think I could have answered some things better. But don't worry, that's always how it will be! There was always something you should have mentioned that you forgot or something that could have been worded better....happens to everyone 🙂

Mine were listed in the packet they handed me: Drs. T. Reilly, L. Schultz, and C. Vogelweid (for afternoon they also had listed Drs. T. Chapman and I. Constantinescu)
Just curious why you're asking? They did ask for no thank you notes if you missed it (you probably didn't but I just wanted to make sure 🙂 )

Thanks for the reply! I ask because I used to work for one of the VetMed professors who is very involved, especially with new students. As wonderful and nice as he is, I find him very intimidating, and interviewing is a major weakness of mine! Just trying to wrap my brain around everything.

I won't be applying until this next cycle (thus interviewing in over a year), but the nerves are already settling in. Hard! Thank you again!

Does anyone know is Mizzou will send our potential rejections/acceptances to our permanent address or current address? For me this would be the difference of the letter going to my parents house vs. my apartment where I live while I'm school.

So happy for everyone who has interviewed and enjoyed the school, I definitely enjoyed it and anxious to hear back! Rainheart, thanks for all of the helpful information along the way too

I emailed Kathy and she said letters are mailed to the current address you put on the supp. app.

When I interviewed (this past Sunday), Kathy said they may have decisions as early as today, depending on when GRE scores come in. I wonder how many people still have incomplete files..

do you know if our status page will also be updated or will we only hear via snail mail?

Today!?!? I'm anxious to hear back soon!!! Also to answer the above question, we hear back via snail mail.

Everyone did really well at interviews. Don't over think or second guess yourselves. Decisions will be out before the end of the month. We have a lot of work to do on the files after they are complete. Take a deep breath and try to relax a bit. My estimate will be the week of jan 27. 🙂

Hey that's when I interviewed! I wonder if we met? Did you have a morning or afternoon interview?

She also said it could be up to 2 weeks...Which I hope it's not! Even though this is way faster than another school I'm waiting on (*cough* Ohio *cough*) so I shouldn't complain.

ETA: I typed this before bigwig posted, so my info isn't that helpful anymore, haha

My interview was at 10:45 am, and I went on the tour beforehand, right around 9am.

Boy did I love it there... totally flubbed up a lot of my interview though since I was sooo nervous. I almost wish that I had realized how much I loved the school AFTER my interview so that I didn't get so hyped up!! They were very nice, but I still caught myself doing all the wrong things (fidgeting...ugh) and fumbled even the questions that I was expecting and had practiced! They asked why they should pick me and instead of a really awesome answer promoting myself I pretty much said I loved the school, felt like I would fit in well and would be successful in their program... all in one breath. Oops.

Don't feel bad about your interview! From talking to people on here, it sounds like several people had nervous moments where they messed up. I know I did. I really think they are expecting some nerves because it is only an interview we have been waiting for our whole lives and determines the rest of our lives. 🙂 I'm sure you did fine!

I just got an email from Kathy letting us know that they are sending out decisions to our current address and if we need to change it do it now. Hopefully, this means they will be sending decisions out soon!

Does anyone know if we can find out our interview scores by calling Kathy?

I think my heart stopped when I saw MU CVM Admissions Office in my inbox....and it was just that. Haha.

Awesome, guys!! Decisions should be there shortly (and yes, by snail mail!) Acceptances came in a large envelope with other info. Wait list (which isn't a bad thing) is in a normal size one (from what I've heard).

Congrats and good luck to all you interviewees. Something to look forward to: going to the alpaca farm tomorrow. I think I saw a high of 25? Woop!

We even had about 10 minutes of snow lol but getting to flip a sheep was pretty awesome! and the alpacas are super cute

I was blown away by how affordable it is to live in Columbia! I went to school in a college town in PA, and most apartments there were way more expensive. I lived on campus the whole time cause it's basically the same price, but closer to classes.

Sorry to butt in, but if you don't mind me asking, where in PA? I'm from/go to school in NEPA.

I went to school at Penn State. I just finished this past December. Where do you go to school?

Hello everyone! Long-time follower, first-time poster - but I did have a question for you all. Does anyone, recent interviewees or current students, remember who they interviewed with? Thank you, and good luck!

I had 4 interviewers- Dr. Linda Berent, Dr. Ileana Constantinescu, Dr. Alison Lacarrubba, and another woman who isn't faculty but a local vet.

Ah, I thought you might have gone to PSU when you mentioned college town. Columbia reminded me a lot of central PA. I go to Misericordia Univ. which is about a tenth the size of Penn State. I know a lot of people who went/go there though.

Haha I felt like that might have been pretty obvious to PA natives when I mentioned being from a college town in PA. So many people go to a PSU campus of some kind even if they're not at main campus. I loved it though. It's good to meet another person who's familiar with that part of the country

I emailed Kathy to see if she knew when decisions would be mailed ( because I'm slightly obsessive and annoying) and this is what she said. "Tried to get files complete before our Dean left town, didn’t happen. He is now out of town until Jan 28th, no letters can go out until he reviews decisions."
