Will both of you be attending? Or are there other programs you are considering?

I'm confirmed! I am still on the waitlist (#8) for another program so unless that changes, I'm fully committed.

Did anyone on this thread get accepted to their Fall 2019 cohort at the Austin campus?

I did! Although I originally got accepted to Spring 2019 and deferred my acceptance to the Fall, so I'm not sure what steps I need to take after paying my tuition deposit

I was told to expect updates/instructions 45-60 days before class starts. if you start in september, expect a message some time in july!

I have my interview on Tuesday, tomorrow, and I’m nervous. Do I need to bring anything extra with me? What kind of questions do they ask you?

I have just got my application sent to Admissions a couple minutes ago. How long do you think I should expect to hear from them ?

I got an interview invitation for June 28. Is anyone else going for this interview at Austin or someone with interview experience at Austin campus?

Did anyone else interview at USA- San Marcos last week? If so, what was your admissions decision?

I am in the Fall 2019 cohort for the Austin campus and am looking for roommates. Is anyone else moving in from out of town and is looking for a roommate as well?

I did too!
I am having my interview this June 28 for Fall 2019 but recently the Austin campus had a probationary accreditation. What do you guys think about this issue and does it affect out chance to sit for the Board Exam ?

You have an interview for fall 2019, interesting? Where did you see about the probationary accreditation?
I was waitlisted at the San Marcos campus and was trying to get into the Austin campus because on Thursday/Friday they possibly had spots but apparently they are full and filling the waitlist now.

Yeah the campus fowarded me the email from APTA about the probationary accreditation yesterday. I am not sure if this would affect my decision to go for the interview just yet. I am from TX but got accepted to a school in NC. I applied to USA just because its closer to home.

Read this, looks like it isn’t a major thing and will be resolved very soon. Shouldn’t effect anything at all, hope that helps!

Who is going to the interview June 28th at the St. Augustine campus?

I interviewed at the Austin campus on May 31 and got in yesterday! I will be attending in the fall for OTD. For my interview it was with 3 other people and two faculty members and they took turn asking us questions. It was much more laid back than I thought. There is also a tour and tons of chances to talk to current students, and they provide lunch as well.

They asked how I would handle the or adapt to the stress of graduate school from what I did differently in undergrad, and why I chose specifically this program at USA. Those are the ones I can remember.

Hey just saw this was curious what you meant as well. I plan on applying for fall of 2020
Hello I am in my 2nd year at USA San Marcos The residential program is not a hybrid format. There is some online teaching for example:
- every class has an online portion meaning that there are voice over power points. They are made so that students are prepared for lecture. Lectures will not cover every single word from the power point - they expect u to have gone through and taken notes on the power points so that lecture can be focused on the more complex things or material that the professor strongly wants to go over (therefore lectures are not 2+ hours long which is good in my opinion)
- some classes have longer voice overs than others just depends.
- you will do very well if you 1. Take notes on the VOPPs before lecture 2. Take notes during lecture 3. Re-read all of your notes: it’s repetitive this way and I like this format. A lot of students don’t look at the VOPPs ahead of time and some still do well and others struggle just depends on you.
- there are a couple classes that are completely online (but most students are thankful for that for those specific classes)
- you go to class 4 days out of the week and once a week u have your “online day” to catch up on power points, assignments etc. many students utilize this time to practice lab stuff too esp when practicals come around

Has anyone been accepted to the flex dpt program St Augustine campus fall 2019?

Hey whats up everyone? A quick question.

So I was at an informational and they were pretty helpful regarding questions we had for admissions. My question is for those who got admitted. I had a pretty high pre req gpa and low cum gpa. Although my prereq is high, that also comes with saying that I took many retakes due to some unforseen cirumstances. Some classes twice some three times in order to get to that A. How much is that going to hurt me in the long run? The lady told us that they look at that very closely because they realize that is a way an applicant can boost their prereq gpa.

FYI to all you Miami Students,

USA finally made the facebook group to find roomates. If youre not in there already, check your email. PM me if you cant find it i'll invite you to the group

Question from one of my friends applying this upcoming cycle:
Do you only apply to one campus? Is it frowned upon to apply to all campuses? He's looking to improve his chances.
Thanks!

It depends, some schools prefer only a few retakes (3 or less). Not sure if USA is one of those, but if not then as long as you improve your cum. Gpa then you may be okay. That being said, it’s not all about the gpa, they take a holistic approach like most schools. If your GRE, LOR’s, observation, experience, and personal essay are up to par, you have a good chance.

its a solid amount of retakes tbh. i had to keep retaking classes because my life was an up and down rollercoaster the past few years. I finally got a hold on things (will for sure include that in my essay), and everything if you dont include the retakes is solid. The only thing that would kill me would literally be the amount of retakes I have taken.

For those that interviewed on June 28th, has anyone heard back yet on a decision?

June 28th in Austin here. I havent heard anything yet.

Interviewed in Austin on June 28th as well and haven’t heard anything. Everyone I’ve seen, here and other places, who has gotten an email so far has interviewed in St. Augustine. The lady in Austin said it would take 2-3 weeks after 4th of July.

Just got my letter of acceptance to the Austin campus this morning!

I got a letter saying the Austin class was full and I was offered options to delay admission to the next cohort, or different locations. Then a week later, I got the acceptance letter for this Fall in Austin. It is weird. Btw, whoever is looking for a roommate this Fall in Austin, lets match !

Hi all!

While I realize I am late to the party, I have applied to USA for the Spring 2020 cohort. However, on my application, there was an option to be considered for Fall 2019 if seats are still available. Anybody know if seats are available for Saint Augustine or Miami campuses? I was told I would hear from an enrollment advisor by the end of this week, or next. I just wanted to gain some insight in regards to my stats:

cGRE: 3.72
pGRE: 3.4
GRE combined: 295 (retaking on August 31st, super nervous)
I have worked as a physical therapy technician for over 600 hours, and prior to that I interned at the same clinic for 500 hours, which was an outpatient setting.
I have letters of recommendation from two PT's, one PTA, and an OT that was within the clinic.

Thank you for any and all advice!

Did anybody get accepted to the flex DPT program? In San Marcos preferably? I am trying to map out what my life will look like if/when I get in. I’ll be flying in. So I want to know how many times in semesters you have to do that. I know it says up to 8. But is it always that much or most of the time?

Hi all - can someone explain what USA's "priority" deadline is versus the PTCAS deadline? What does that mean or guarantee?

nevermind, apparently it just means they only start reviewing applications for that cohort rather than for the future ones as well

I was accepted to USA Flex program for Spring 2020- St. Aug Fl. Anybody else here attending?

Sorry I'm late, but the interview was pretty chill for me. Hope you had a successful interview!
