I heard that the committee isn't even meeting until February so we probably have a wait still =(
I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that we OOSers will start receiving phone calls next Wednesday.
My stats aren't exactly perfect...honestly, all of the schools I applied to are probably "reach schools."Here's to hoping. I will honestly be shocked if I do. Wisconsin was definitely my "reach school"

I applied to 7 total. Zero acceptances so far.. Still waiting to hear from one other school.Did you happen to apply anywhere else? I applied to 8 total (I'm still really indecisive...). 2 acceptances so far and one declined interview. So maybe...just maybe

I agree! This is my second application cycle, but my first time applying to UW. I know that if it's meant to be, it will be. Not ready to give up! I'm remaining hopeful. 🙂There's still hope! There's definitely a place out there for you. Anything can happen. So far I haven't seen any clear-cut rubric as to how UW accepts or doesn't accept people...it seems incredibly randomized (based on successful applicant stats from the c/o 2016 and 2017 threads)

I don't have a shot in hell at getting in at Wisconsin, but that didn't stop me from trying![]()
me either but thought I would try anyway...you never know...Me too 🙂
So I decided to ask. This was the response I received:
"Thank you for the email and your interest in the School of Veterinary
Medicine. All applicants will be notified via postal mail delivery, not
email, of the decision regarding their applications. These should be
received by the end of this month at the latest."
So, I e-mailed Lynn Maki and I got a similar response...
"We share all decisions for all applicants at the same time. I anticipate that decision letters will be mailed out mid- to late-February. Yes, some nonresidents receive phone calls."
Guess they're doing it differently this year? Why would only some nonresidents receive phone calls? The sooner I know the better..going crazy over here (even though my chances aren't great, still hopeful).
You're right, I was thinking she said some accepted nonresidents receive phone calls. Alright, so we will still hopefully start hearing by next week.. Good luck everyone!I think that's the way they've done it every year as far as I know. The OOS people they really like get phone calls the second week of February (i.e. next week - glad to know they're still doing that). Most OOS people and all IS people receive letters. Smaller envelopes = waitlisted or rejected. Larger envelopes = accepted. It's a good thing February is a relatively short month
Hope we start hearing something starting this week!
I don't have my last interview until Feb 27, but if I get into UW, I will most likely cancel that interview. I hear you, my phone will be in hand (nearly) at all times! Fingers crossed for sure, good luck to everyone! It could all start tomorrow. I have my last interview then, but I'm definitely keeping my phone nearby at all times this week. On the lookout for any blocked number or 608 area code :fingerscrossed:

CONGRATS!! any chance you'd post your stats??
Congrats!!! And I see you run cross country!?! Me too!!! Do you still run? If so, and if I get accepted too, maybe we could be running buddies in vet school! Run off some stress...
Looks like around the 21st. Maybe earlier this year?the waiting is killing me! does anyone know when the first letters arrived last year? assuming I'm not outright accepted, I'm wondering how soon to expect a letter of either rejection or wait-list. Hopefully by the end of this week? *fingers crossed*
