No real reason. Not sure about the SOV thing, right now.
 
Just further clarification on the SOV information, yes he is technically correct, on "The Killer." However it isn't just a title, he does have the ability to kill nightly.

I am also going to lynch SOV.
If I understand correctly, I think he'll be able to veto the lynch as mayor, but that is a one time thing, right? So even if we cannot actually lynch him today, if he uses up his veto and we still think he needs to go later in the game, he won't have the veto anymore.
 
I am going to give SOV the benefit of the doubt. His role seems likely, and I think if he was a wolf, his seer results would have said "Wolf".

Plus, I don't think he would risk getting elected as mayor if he was likely to be investigated right away.

Or, option d) Perhaps two wolf groups? Might be far fetched for this small game, but anything is possible.

I just want to clarify this now, wolves can be spread out or there is a chance that there could be more than one wolf in a group. It is typically done by a random number generator. Also, considering the size of this game to start, I think 5 wolves might have been a bit much and we do have 5 groups, so there is a possibility that a group is wolf free, or there could be more than one group wolf-free, we won't know until we find all of the wolves. I just don't like getting caught up in the one wolf/group mentality, because it is not always true.

Maybe and maybe not. We don't know what abilities that he received as mayor, a veto could have been one of them, but lately people have been moving away from a veto for other abilities. It really is just dependent upon the mod(s).

Meh, I think he normally would avoid it, but he already had a few votes for mayor that trying to vote for someone else at that point may have seemed odd and suspicious. Honestly, I never know why SOV does what SOV does; I think is just best to say, because he is SOV.

I would like to hear more from him though. Not sure if he is a wolf or not, as I also think seer results would have been more clear than just "the killer".

Anyway, going to wait and see if SOV will say more before I decide but I feel like kbrow is almost over-doing the confused noob thing. Might just be me, but seems a bit fishy, or maybe she really is just confused. Anyway, going to wait and see if SOV has anything else to say before I vote.

He asked to be cleared (be investigated) in a PM to our group after being elected. I don't play the same as SOV, but that seems pretty dumb. I think he has one of those "fun" villager roles that is painted to look like a wolf. I can sympathize with that.

I am not going to jump on the wagon to lynch him. I would like to hear more as well. Sounds like he's busy today unfortunately.

I would like for you to answer Tucker's question before I decide on anything. I think it's kind of sketchy that you ignored that question. But it sort of seems like you won't be on again 😕

On the other hand, SOV makes it seem like even if we do lynch him, it won't have an effect on him ("You can lynch me but I ain't going anywhere) so I'm not sure if he's just calling our bluff or if that's really true and he can avoid the lynch.

Ok, didn't know he sent a PM asking to be investigated, that would be a dumb move as a wolf.

I am willing to hear him out as well just because it could very well be one of those weird villager roles.

I guess my newness seems more sketchy than anything. I'm generally just confused though. I don't know how otherwise to defend myself since we don't have a ton of information yet for my to point fingers in another direction.
 
Going to go with lynch tuckervet, even though I have no suspicions they are a wolf. It is just an effort to save SOV.

Also, I feel bad lynching a noob who signed up to SDN just to play this game.

tuckervet lasted quite a while in the last game, so I don't feel quite so bad. Sorry though.
 
For now since I'm going back into work and don't know if I'll be back in time for the deadline, I'm going to lynch SOV. Don't really like that he has a kill ability, villager or wolf regardless. There were two killed last night and I bet only one of them was a wolf kill so that leads me to believe SOV is responsible for the other one. It just doesn't sit well with me.

Not really suspicious of kbrow yet, as she's new *shrug*. I can be forgiving of confusion on the first day of her first game.

These kind of simplistic views are really suspicious to me. It is exactly what wolves try to do to make sure villagers go for a lynch of another villager.

And the "wow that started fast" is also incredulous. Signups started 2 days ago for a "fill-in" game.


As for my role..
I chose from 4 candidates yesterday and killed one.

If you participate then you have nothing to be afraid of. If you are a wolf and want to fly under the radar, forget about it.

A lot of wolves have been silent and getting away with it the last few days. Participate and risk making stupid comments like above, or be killed for being silent. Those are the choices, and I agree with the mods.

Silence, and coming on once a day just to vote are not choices anymore.

So, are you only able to kill those that are inactive? If so, who deems what is inactive? Is this the mods or your own deciding?
 
Going to try and catch up on the thread ASAP. Sorry I wasn't here for the mayor elections. I just got back from camping with swings.

I choose from a list. How that is composed is unknown, although all 4 people on the list didn't vote yesterday.

The reason I ran for mayor is that I presumed I would receive better info as mayor and could make an informed choice (i.e. less likely to kill a villager, especially one with a role).

I also presume that the ability won't die with me, but that is honestly complete speculation on my part.

I am 100% a villager. No ifs ands or buts.

I have a good chance of taking out wolves if I get good info, and I think we would want someone who knows what they are doing at least a little to be making these decisions.

So, is this list sent to you by the mods? I am assuming that they send you a list of players and you have to pick one off that list to kill? That just seems to be what I am getting from what you are saying.

I think I can buy this considering how many people have gone MIA as of late in these games.

We've done a crap-ton of talking about dealing with idle players lately.

So I buy SOV's role. That said, from a numbers standpoint if he's taking out an extra villager every night I'm hard-pressed to see how it helps us much.

*shrug* Whatevs. Even if it hurts us I can't say I'm opposed to offing non-playing players.

I wonder if you got this role by chance or by design! Y'all were just talking about this the other day...and you were one of the active commenters on it. 🙂

I hope you don't always get "the four lowest posters" or whatever...I mean...someone has to be on the bottom of the list, even if we are all posting 10x/day, someone will be on bottom.

Maybe it's only if someone is posting less than 3x/actual (24 hour) day or something.
 
For what it's worth, btw, I don't think KB is a wolf. We've been talking a little, and I really think she's just feeling out game mechanics and strategies.

No proof or anything, but I think she's a villager. And she really did sign up on SDN JUST for this game. I'm willing to give her time. But then again, I'm in her group and have been talking to her, whereas you guys are just getting what's been said on the thread.

No one has any other info? I'm inclined to believe that SOV is for real a villager, too. But I think having a "must kill" (must you kill, SOV, or can you choose not to use it for a night?) ability is kinda dangerous. Definitely more dangerous than a newbie plain vanillla villager, if you don't have any info to kill on, but must use your ability.

I'm just going to lynch WS

I hate that she almost always gets lynched in one of the first lynches, but the only posts she's had so far in here are to elect SOV and to lynch Nohika.

I usually pull from the bottom of the post count if I'm doing a RNG type lynch, and I feel like both SOV and KB are actually participating, so if they're both villagers, they should get a chance to play.

If all you've done is elect someone and lynch someone...that's a little negligent on playing. Swings and Alors were camping, so they can get a free pass, this IMHO. :shrug:

Not actually sure if it is an everyday thing. We will see. But, the whole point of me as mayor is to funnel info. If I know who to avoid, we increase the odds if killing wolves. I should be able to do much better than random chance at getting wolves....and privy to info, hopefully better than lynches.....

On the bright side, at least if SOV is the lynchie winner and he can avoid it, then we can keep from lynching a villager. And be one up on the wolves. 🙂

I am guessing one of the voters voting for me is a wolf...probably not dwin, but the other 4 all make my wolfdar prickly. Can't see how wolves want someone who can kill them around.

They would be my suggested investigation targets next.
 
I want to unlynch SOV but it's going to create another tie. I don't want to lynch KB or WS so let me think for a little bit
