UTSW - Dallas Step One Question

For all yout UTSW students when do you guys take step 1? Are you required to even take step 1 prior to starting 3rd year?

I don't know if there are any second years from UTSW that post in the forums, so I will give it a try. I really don't honestly know the details at all. I know that second years get about six weeks off to study after their second year, and then take it. I found this link where the school sets up study sessions if you want to take advantage. You're in luck. The Robbins pathology cases on CD-ROM come straight from your school's curriculum. I'm jealous. Those things were money for learning path.

Thanks for link. To answer OP's question, you don't have to have taken step 1 to proceed to year 3. But, according to UTSW catalog 02-05, you must have taken step 1 prior to beginning the 4th year. You must pass in order to progress through 4th year. Students are recommended to take it in June following year 2, but again not required. Hope that helps.
