I missed my call from Purdue this morning and they left a voice mail telling them to call them back. They said it was regarding my admission status but didn't flat out say they were offering me a spot until I called them back.

I can't believe it happened!! I received the call this morning - I'm going to be a Wildcat! And a special shout out to my sister...I had no idea, but she made an account so she could stalk the pages like I have (her user name was something like "cheering sister"). I have the best big sister in the world! Thanks for always being in my corner!!

I know! I'm worried it's another WSU and they won't be contacting people off the waitlist. I really hope that isn't true because I'm getting the sinking feeling that it's my last hope for this cycle. I think I read on the thingy they sent that they'll start calling in May but still.
 
i swear I thought they said april 15th they'd start contacting people but i believe they accepted a lot of extra people to avoid the waitlist moving as much as it did last year

On the paper we had to send in to accept being on the waitlist it did ask for your contact information for between May 1st and August something... I'm wondering if that does mean they're waiting until May 1st, but I thought I read elsewhere (maybe the U of Illinois vet interviews thread?) that they're supposed to be calling as people decline their offers, so I really don't know. I'm hoping for the best for both of us here! :xf:

What was her number originally? Im wait list number 14 and when I contacted them on Wednesday, it hadnt moved. 🙁

Her original number was in the top 5. I don't remember exactly what it was but she never called to see if it moved. I'm guessing they didn't start calling until after Wednesday because she was called Friday afternoon.

I thought this as well, but there is a delay if the school you are wait listed for has a "Postmarked" date by April 15th. If a postmarked date is used that means the student can still turn their acceptance into the POST OFFICE on the 15th. Then the school has to take into consideration transit time of the letter. I know for Iowa State if they do not receive your postmarked acceptance by noon on Monday the 22nd (a week after the deadline) your application is withdrawn and it is offered to the next wait lister! This takes care of the problem of people who chose to not respond at all to an admission offer 🙂.

I'm not sure if all schools use the Monday at noon thing but hopefully they will be able to move faster down the list over the next couple of days. Good luck!

OMG I got in!!! I was #34 on OOS wait list for Iowa and got a call at 454 pm today!! I can't believe it! I've been waiting four years for this....all of my friends are graduating with their DVM this year and I finally get to start towards earning mine. Dreams DO come true!!! Can't wait to meet everyone!! 🙂
