Hi guys, I was wondering what you guys thought of my stats, I am still accumulating more hours especially in clinical experience as its my full time job and I'm looking for more clinical volunteering as well as research opportunities. I've been struggling to create a set list of schools I'm open to all ideas I know I want to apply to MD and DO programs but mainly MD and all of the NJ schools are definitely on my list. My dream school would be UNC, any input is appreciated, and if anyone wants to read each others personal statements I'd definitely be up for it, thanks for reading :)
  1. cGPA and sGPA as calculated by AMCAS or AACOMAS: cGPA 3.89, sGPA: 3.80
  2. MCAT score(s) and breakdown. Include all (non-voided) attempts: 509: 127 c/p,126 b/b,127 p/s,129 cars
  3. State of residence or country of citizenship (if non-US): New jersey
  4. Ethnicity and/or race: caucasian
  5. Undergraduate institution or category: montclair state university, exercise science major
  6. Clinical experience (volunteer and non-volunteer):
- lots of direct patient care hours, 1k hours + working as a medical assistant (in an OBGYN and pediatrician office) and another 1k+ hours as physical therapy aide
  1. Research experience and productivity: some slight research experience conducting fitness tests on my universities sports team
  2. Shadowing experience and specialties represented: 10 hours shadowing an OBGYN (looking to add more to this and shadow other specialties)
  3. Non-clinical volunteering: 100+ hours at my local food pantry, 100+ hours being a grant writer for an animal shelter, 25 hours volunteering for a foster home
  4. Other extracurricular activities (including athletics, military service, gap year activities, leadership, teaching, etc)
  5. Relevant honors or awards: deans list all four years of undergraduate and summa cum laude if that counts for anything lol

UNC admits very few non residents with a MCAT of 509 and no connection to the state. I suggest these schools with your stats:
Your 3 NJ state public schools
Hackensack
New York Medical College
Albany
Vermont
Quinnipiac
Drexel
Temple
Jefferson
Penn State
Commonwealth Geisinger
George Washington
Virginia Commonwealth
Eastern Virginia
Wake Forest
NOVA MD
Belmont
Creighton
Rosalind Franklin
Medical College Wisconsin
Oakland Beaumont
Wayne State
Roseman
Alice Walton
For DO schools I suggest these:
RowanCOM
NYITCOM
LECOM
Touro-NY
CUSOM
MU-COM
DMU-COM
ATSU-KCOM
KCU-COM
AZCOM
TUNCOM
WVSOM
Also accumulate 50 hours of physician shadowing and more non clinical volunteering at the food pantry and foster home.
