cGPA 3.80 sGPA 3.69
First mcat 501 (127/122/127/125)
Predicted Second mcat range 504-507. My 3 aamc practice exams were all exactly 507. But after yesterday idk how I feel. Worse case scenario if I got a 504
Will a third retake hurt my chances?
Female. African American. First generation college student. Applying disadvantaged
Maryland state of residence
2Community college/ 2 years at University (University GPA> CC GPA)
Clinical experience:
-1,100 hours ophthalmic technician part time for 2.5 years
-2,000 hours. Started a full time leader/manager ophthalmic technician position at another practice. Full time for 12/14 months
-Possibly Certified Ophthalmic technician by June
Work experience:
-3,200(now)—4,000 (projected) hours at furniture store. Sales associate 3.5+ years. I may leave soon may not idk.
-25-100 hours. Hostess. I may be leaving since I was offered that full time ophthalmology job
Research.
-500 hours analytical chemistry focus on mass spec
-1 publication co author.
-2 poster presentations at my university undergraduate research day
Shadowing.
30 hours- ophthalmology. Trying to plan time Primary care hours
Non clinical volunteering
200 hours nursing home
Extracurriculars
-President of student organization
-President of an event planning organization on campus
-Orientation leader - 1 summer
-group study session Leader/ Tutor for cell biology
-SMDEP Rutgers
Honors/awards
Deans list always and 4 scholarships.
I applied last year and withdrew before being processed. I have been told my PS and diversity essays are good! Everything I listed is literally my 15 activities I’m going to list this year.
Do I have a chance for my state school? Aka University of Maryland SOM. I also live 25 minutes from Washington DC so GtWN GW and Howard are also my shooting targets!!!
