You must also attend a session in Blue Auditorium on either April 13 or April 25. You are not assigned to a specific day and may come on either day. You must bring your PDA to this session as it will involve an audience response session that will utilize the PDA. The schedule for these session is as follows:
9:00 lecture - "Pain Assessment and Management"
10:00 lecture - "Clinical Ethics"
11:00 Interactive Case Discussions in Clinical Ethics

It's 9-12 of the most boring re-hashed stuff. enjoyCeLo said:Hey 2nd years-
I can't find the info we got for the required ethics lecture, and I have to go tomorrow. What time does it start and how long does it go? I think I remember reading it was 9-12 in Blue.
For those that went the 13th, how was is? Let me guess, stupid. They find the most creative ways to waste our time!

So now that we are all curious; do tell.
fun8stuff said:if i get the story wrong, someone please correct me- as i heard it second hand. Apparently Dr. Levine wanted to demonstrate hypotonia/weakening of muscles that might be present in a parkinson's or elderly patients. That same day she had another prof's group in her clinmed class as well. So she picked the smallest girl from the new group and asked her to stand up. She complamented her outfit, then pushed her and she went stumbling across the whole room, almost falling down.
Now, if a guy prof would have done that to a girl student... there would have been a lawsuit, lol.

Summer vacation????? You mean the 4 days I get before studying for the boards, or the 7 days after. Not much of a vacation, but will be much enjoyed. At this point I'm just ready be done for the year and start on the boards to get them out of the way.sistahnik said:Hey ddmo!! what's going on? are you ready for your summer vacation? WSU School of Medicine classes and meetings are cancelled for Thursday, April 27, 2006 at Scott Hall. Faculty, staff, and students should not report to Scott Hall. Minimal emergency power is running essential equipment. Researchers can access Scott Hall to check on their equipment. This message will be updated at 3pm on Thursday.
2 in a row baby!!!!
fun8stuff said:Brings back the feeling of snow days in grade school. I wonder what this means for those of us who are missing the last clinmed before the clinmed exam.... Don't some people have clinmed at places other than scott hall? hmmm...
mendel121 said:Yes, I'm curious as well - I have a clinmed session off campus - on or not on? If anyone hears, post away please. Knowing Wayne and Clin Med, they'll tell us tomorrow at about 8 am that all small groups are cancelled
Shangal said:Hamburger, hopefully you will get your acceptance letter tommorrow. Sure that will be a great day for you, but it won't be as good as having a day off from med school
katrinadams9 said:Wow. Reading blackboard comments really makes me laugh.I think our class is in dire need of some time off. Too bad we have to study for the friggin boards instead of laying on the beach all summer like we deserve.
katrinadams9 said:Wonder how they'll reschedule all this now?![]()
oldjeeps said:I'll stick with my earlier guess of some 7AM lectures.
oldjeeps said:If we are to believe what the news had to say tonight, we can all thank some idiot contractor for cutting some underground power lines going to WSU-SOM and part of the DMC.
Shangal said:I am starting to hate this matt kid from class,
I think if he really wants to take it on tuesday, they should give him the option of taking it earlier, but I'd rather take it on wednesday morning. Why the hell is this guy speaking on behalf of the whole class when I never even met him
ba humbug
katrinadams9 said:I wasn't saying you should email the whole class. I was annoyed by that too. I just think that people who will be upset by a move or keeping it the same should email Dr. Jackson or the course directors to have their opinions voiced. It's pretty useless to just complain about something unless you're going to do something about it.

Bet it was interesting trying to evacuate patients without power (after the backup generator broke down) glad I wasnt in the hospital to have to help with that one.
Honestly what the hell does it matter if the test is Tuesday or Wednesday, chill people, if you think Wayne is preparing you for the boards you'd better wake up, pick up a board review book and realize what is emphasized on the boards is not emphasized at wayne. If you want a good board score study now for the boards pick up Kaplan, BRS, whatever you're going to study and start learning it now, no one is going to hold your hand this summer!! It seems that as long as the school year ends on May 10th both sides would be happy, and secondly none of our opinions matter, it's wayne, it will be done is some convoluted manner that screws boths sides of the debate in the end. Just relax, enjoy the day, we've only got 2 weeks left.
katrinadams9 said:He's saying that because most people on blackboard are saying keep the exam the same. Also, we're not sure if the prof's are even looking at blackboard. If you have a different view, email it to Dr. Jackson too.
HamburgerHelper said:Blah. Got an email from the Admissions office (don't know how)... placed on the alternate list. 🙁
Does anyone here know how the waitlist works? Do I even have a chance? I'd appreciate your input.
Thanks.
