Yes, sorry for the delay. First I want to state I am a non traditional student that has 29 yrs experience in vet med and has been a practice owner. I will be commuting if I get in so I did not tour the living area but I am familiar with the over all town. The tour starts with introductions to some staff and presentations from them on there research and the over all program. I loved this as the reasurch prof who spoke was full of passion and you could feel he loved his work. The student presentation was well done and they gave ample time for questions with faculty and without. Nice to ask students real world questions without faculty or admissions. Then the tour is given by the students which gave more time to get to know them and ask one on one questions. Yes it is a smaller campus but I felt it had all you needed. There pet health center is a full functioning hospital on campus with live patients that you get to work and rotate through. The clinical instructors I met seemed nice and students spoke well of thier experiences for the most part. Biggest complaint was getting used the the pbl style learning. The PBL room has models and well thought out rooms to discuss the cases your group has to review. I personally feel this model suites me better then traditional lecture format. They have a great cadaver space with specimens that are all donated to the facilities for student use and dedicated professors for that space to help guide you. While I understand being sent to other facilities for clinical can be hard for some, it is exciting to me as I have hired DVMs in the past whom shared that only learning at their schools teaching hospitals narrowed their real world perspective. These are some of the reasons this is my first choice school and I felt it was a good fit for me. Hope this helps.could you share a bit more on what you saw in the facilities, what you heard from current students & what left you such a positive impression for those who cant attend in person? thanks
