Does it give any kind of ranking within the waitlist? I would super duper love to have you in class with me!
Nope....just praying I get in with you. I know they take quite a bit of people off the wait list so pray for me!

I am accepting my alternate. It is not a rejection sooo I'll go with it. Bummer of course it wasn't an acceptance but that's life.
100%. I accepted my alternate as well. I'm just going to keep on keeping on as that's really all we can do.

Anyone else here who hasn’t been interviewed and is still hoping to get an invite? 😭😭😭
Haven't interviewed and my portal still looks the same. I'm afraid it might be a rejection cause the scholarship information is no longer there

I interviewed in December and my portal hasn’t updated
I’m afraid it might be a rejection too
Strange because all decisions were sent same time I believe the last 2 cycles that I have applied

OOS alternate. I interviewed in Feb. I declined the waitlist offer. Congrats to everyone who got in or waitlisted!!! For those that didn’t get in this round, know that’s it’s not you… it’s the system. It took me 5 cycles to get two acceptances. Never give up on your dreams

A couple hours more and you would have got the news!
Can't speak for those who chose to withdraw their applications but I'm guessing that it wouldn't have mattered if they had waited or not. I think that unfortunately this entire game of "It's going to be this week" and then "No it'll be next week" and then "It'll now be the end of March-early April" turned off a lot of people from the school, which I can understand. I agree that this was frustrating and disrespectful of our time and emotional well-being. I understand that they're short-staffed and this is probably what delayed decisions but at the very least there should have been updates and communication with us out of respect. Again, can't speak exactly for them, but just my 2 cents.

I dont care. I wouldn't have went here regardless due to the political situation unfortunately as it’s simply too expensive and with the Department of Education potentially being eradicated I could never finance it.

These months have shown that this school is deeply disorganized. 0 communication about the fact that they haven’t delivered decisions months after every other school is plain embarrassing. Thats all before we acknowledge that Western has lower than average NAVLE pass rates.

Sorry, but if I’m paying THAT much for tuition then it’s going to be somewhere thats more cohesive, communicative, and coherent than this.

EDIT: hey I also wanna say I’m not trying to take anything away from anyone attending, I think you will all be successful as possible for wherever you attend. I only choose to say these things to justify why I personally withdrew my application.

Still nothing and the scholarship info is gone from my portal. I interviewed in december, assuming rejection?

Has anyone received a rejection?
I emailed admissions and they said my application is still with the committee. I have only seen alternates and acceptances so far on here
Admissions also mentioned they do not give out decisions via phone or email and I can expect to be notified up until April. :/

I asked them and they told me the same thing too. This is so frustrating

I haven’t heard from them yet either. I emailed admissions and asked for an update and was told that my application is still under review with the committee and that I can expect a response anytime from now until the end of April. I interviewed in January. This is the only school I got an interview at and this is my third cycle applying. It also really sucks to not know if I need to look for somewhere to move to in SoCal or if I need to find another place to lease up here :/

has anyone who interviewed with western university received anything?

I spoke with one of my friends and she said Western called and took her off the waitlist yesterday. So I guess they are taking people off as apps are declined? My spouse and I prepared for either acceptance or denial. Being waitlisted was a whole other curve ball 😂 Still thankful though!

they called? idk but some things just seem a little off...Western never calls about updates/decisions but also how are they pulling people off the waitlist if the date to make your decision to choose your spot as an alternate hasn't passed yet? Is the alternate list being built as first come, first serve then? I'm just confused about how their accepted class was chosen and how their alternate list is being built with some people not receiving decisions and people being pulled off the list before decision date has passed. Does this mean that everyone on the current alternate list just didn't get accepted because we lost the lottery (as referenced in WesternU's handbook for the DVM program) and didn't get chosen? In which case, are we higher up on the alternate list than if those who haven't received a decision are now offered an alternate position? Just very frustrated about the lack of transparency on their process, and if anyone has any insight, I think that would help all of us
