i called and they said if we didn't get an acceptance today then we're gonna be put on hold or alternate
 
I'm so happy I got accepted!!!!!! Congrats to all who got accepted!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi. For those that have already gone to to the Western interview, I was wondering if you guys received a confirmation email after you submit to confirm for the interview? And if parking pass is also included?

As far as the later question, a parking pass will be made available to you via email once you have accepted the invite.
 
Hey btw to those who called about their acceptance, who did you call to ask whether or not you were placed on hold or alternate?

i called one of the counselors but she didn't tell me my status exactly. she just said i will get an email that will let me know if i am on hold or an alternate.
 
I was wondering if current/former students know about what percentage of "hold" applicants eventually get accepted. I was placed on hold and I reallyyyyyyyy want to get in!

everyone is on hold for now. once everyone is accepted, all the holds will either be alternate or rejection.

do people know how often holds get in? 🙁
 
I'm a current student at WesternU. I believe that if you're an alternate, then you've been placed on a ranking list. Depending on where you are on the list and how many candidates have withdrawn their acceptance, you'll be accepted accordingly to the number of vacant spots. A hold means that the admissions committee have not decided if they want to put you on that alternate list, which means you're kind of in limbo. A lot of my classmates have been accepted after been placed on alternate, but I've met fewer students from the hold list.
 
If anyone can chime in, were there any candidates from the Dec interview placed as "alternate" or just "hold"? Did anyone remember during the orientation that files placed on hold would be reactivated after interview, or was it only at the end of all interviews? Thanks.
 
Did any of you who were accepted send in an acceptance deposit?? I already sent it earlier on this week, and they should have received it by now but haven't heard anything yet.

Sending mine today.. It's probably soon to receive any communication back but remember to check the WesternU e-mail account they ask you to set up--just in case!

Yeah I already set up the email account prior to sending the deposit. Hopefully, will hear back from them next week.
 
For the interview on next Saturday, has anyone received the confirmation email that includes the parking pass?
 
I've been worried about confirmation and the pass as well, and they never answer the phone when I call or reply to messages.
 
Did anyone who interviewed on Dec 15 not get a decision yet? Anyone still waiting?

They send it in the reminder e-mail that comes ~2 days before your interview.

I would like to know as well.
 
I got an interview invitation on Jan. 26.
Due to a circumstance, I am considering to postpone the interview to February.
However, the email from Western said one can postpone the interview "if there is availability". So does this mean that there is a chance that one might not get an interview if he or she postpone it? Is there anybody here and got an interview in next sessions?

Hey guys! I'm new here. I've lurked around a few times in the past and decided to sign up. I had an interview Dec. 15, got an acceptance Jan. 10. Sent my deposit/acceptance form in today. I also got an exciting phone call from the associate dean. Anyone else get a phone call? Just wondering if they do that with a lot of the people they accept.

I was called by the faculty member who interviewed me. 🙂
 
Has anybody received a confirmation about the deposit? If you did, can you let me know when you mailed it in and when you received the confirmation? Thank you!
 
Just got pulled off from the hold list to acceptance. So they are accepting people even if you are on hold.
 
Just got an interview for this Saturday. Seems unprofessional to give a few days heads up. Too bad I'll be in Colorado that day.

Received a confirmation today--I sent it exactly 1 week ago.

closed file, 2-3 people (usually one faculty + one student) at one time

It is my top choice. 🙂 I interviewed at USC too but honestly I was underwhelmed by them. I really like how the curriculum is set up at Western and I think the block program will help me to stay focused.
