For anyone who is in the program right now, is there still an Anatomy summer class?
and how hard is to dedicate enough time for your mandatory research/thesis portion?

Me too! Hopefully everything will resume to in person learning by that time. I can't imagine how tough online anatomy is!
 
I'm applying too! i was looking at the personal statement prompt and had a few questions:
how long are y'all making yours? are y'all writing it like any other med school personal statement???

It should be just a 1 to 1.5 pages long. Do you mind me asking where did you find that prompt? I know their application cycle is not opening till November 1st but I also wanted to look at the essays in advance.

I am applying too! @a_cruel, thanks for posting that application checklist. I didn't fully read it and missed the personal statement prompt 😀
 
any movement? I applied a few days ago
 
I don't have time to work on the application until I take the mcat. Not sure if I am going to do well. this whole thing is kind of rushed. but crossing my fingers! I went to the orientation they had too and it was very informative! For those who applied, did you apply with an MCAT score?

@happymedicine30 I'm planning on submitting my app with my MCAT score, but I'm nervous because my MCAT might get cancelled due to closures, and I'm not sure if they will accept an application without it!

I heard that you will need the MCAT scores to be submitted to the Admission Office latest by March 15th. It is also on their checklist.

Wasn't that before the pandemic? I also just checked the application website and it says that interview dates haven't been set up yet.

Yeah, that is true it was before pandemic. But my friend who has gone through said interview was in march. They also had delayed cycle last year, which extended the interviews to late April.
 
Hi! I'm also applying this cycle to the program. Just to make sure, the application is being done through PostbacCas right?

Hey! The anatomy is still during the summer and will most likely be online still, I am not sure how things will change by then. You won't be working on your research/thesis portion until mid fall. You will have plenty of time to focus on anatomy!
 
how do you guys send in your official MCAT score? i can't find any codes for the school🙁 or do you just input your aamc ID and your score breakdown? please help no one from admission is answering my emails

Hi! I only remember doing the self-reporting in the "academic materials" tab in PostBacCas when I was submitting my app. I don't remember having to go through AAMC, and when checking my application status, it still showed up with green checkmarks! I hope that helps!
 
Has Western contacted anyone yet?

If we took the mcat twice we have to report both scores right?

I don't know about have to, but I submitted all of my scores!

I'm also an applicant for this cycle too haha, I don't think I sounded very clear on that on my previous post haha.

you need to email the admission and records and then send in your 16 digits from your MCAT report.
If you go into your AAMC under get MCAT scores, you will see that print report, then on top of the print report, there is 16 digit I believe they are letters and numbers. You copy that and include it in your email for them with your application reference number and AAMC ID.

Hi! After I submitted my application, I believe I got my "PostBacCas App Received by WesternU" email after I had 1 letter of recommendation submitted to my application (which took a while for me). I got my "Your WesternU App is Ready for Committee Review" email after I got all my LORs turned in and got green checks for all the requirements, and that took about a week I think as I waited for my LORs to get sent?

just checked this morning and i was verified! thanks for this.
just making sure, the application process is just through postbaccas right? there's nothing we have to submit through westernU official website?

Yes! I didn't have to send any supplemental or additional documents!
 
For the personal statement are we supposed to follow the prompt on PostBacCAS or the prompt on the Western U MSMS checklist? They're both different, not by much but still different. I wrote my statement based on the prompt in the checklist but just saw that PostBacCAS had its own prompt.
 
Did anybody use the Professional Transcript Service to input your transcripts? If so, how long did it take for it to be processed and approved?
 
Just a heads up to submit your application asap, there is a verification process that can take up to 2 weeks. I didn't know about this until I submitted my application today. Luckily my application got verified in like 3 hours and I'm so grateful. But I think your application needs to be verified by the deadline so turn in immediately.

Nothing here either!! The deadline to apply is on March 15 according to PostBacCas so I'm not sure if they are waiting until after deadline to start reviewing and extending interview invitations. 😅
 
Does anyone know what to expect during the interview? Will it be more like a conversation or is it their MMI style?
 
After verification how long did it take your applications to be received by western u? Mine's been verified for over a day but Julie at Western U said she still hasn't received it. I called PostBacCas and they said after verification western u should be able to access the application immediately. All my letters of recs and necessary documents have been uploaded and processed too.
