Just heard from UCSF by e-mail. Got an interview for Oct. 17th, but have to reschedule. I'm so excited though!! 🙂
 
Just received an email from AADSAS
My application will be mailed in 22 mailing, which is aparently is in 10 days. This is taking sooo LONG. They said 10 days , 10 days ago. And last time I talked to them they had 5 LORs for me now they have 4. Did of the letters run away? I just I'd share this with you.
Oh yeah I submitted on Sept 6h.

Actually, I emailed and called Amy several times. She just wanted me to be patient. 🙂 I would like to experience each school I apply if I can the interview as much as possible.
 
OMG, you won't believe what i got from Detroit Mercy today.

got a letter saying they have received my AADSAS app. wow, i am so glad they got it considering the fact that i sent it on JUNE 1.

come on schools, i need interviews here. i guess i should wait 3 months to hear some good news.

It's going to be ok. I know some schools are finally just starting to review applications. I spoke with one adcom today and they said their school was about four weeks behind in the process!

i agree with you though. getting just an interview in your case isn't much exciting. i am telling you man, considering your stats, you should hire a lawyer and sue all the schools for not having you accepted already. how dare they?:laugh:
 
No, I mean really boring stuff like 10 different maps of downtown Richichmond and another form that looks like AADSAS again.

how long does it take you to receive interview invite from UCSF after you sent them secondaries?

I just got my secondary application in mail today :clap: :clap:
And apparently, the 10 days limit has been crossed out.
Now, i get 3 out of 6 responses.

I am afraid that most of my interviews are going to be the same days.

i got my interview a week after NYU had received my complete file. and my DAT Scores or GPA werent hot at all. they are quick in giving interviews and interviews to a lot of people. if you have DAT's 16 and above you will get an interview soon.

i sent my application on Sep 14th and it will be included in the 22nd mailing as well.

Jaap,
just try to have a good time and do well on your interviews. you will get into every single school you have applied to. i suggest you get a bigger mailbox soon as acceptance letters tend to come in thick envelopes.

I sent my secondary to UCSF at the end of August, and just heard yesterday from UCSF. So I guess it took them about a month? Anyway, it may be sooner for the rest because they told me that Oct. 17 is the first date they are doing interviews. I also called them mid September to make sure they received my secondary and they apologized that they were running behind. So who knows how long it'll take for them to process secondaries.
 
My waiting crisis is over. I just got an interview invite from UT-Houston for Oct 22.

U of Detroit Mercy postcard -> recieved my fee twice (my fault). Hope they reimburse me. they said I would hear something from them in 3 weeks.

i couldn't find your stats but i see that you have several interviews scheduled. based on that, i thinkn that you will get some interviews in CA as well. just be patient and you will be fine.

croco, a 3.2 GPA isn't that bad. well, at least thats what i think. as long as your DAT scores are good, i think that a 3.2 should get you interviews in CA. shawnone got an interview at USC.

I will be shocked if you dont get multiple interviews at CA schools. Your stats are very very good. Dont worry at all!
 
I'll throw in my two cents (c'mon, you guys saw this coming!):

A 3.2 won't get you much at all with UCSF or UCLA. If you have good DAT scores then it will get you an interview at UOP. A 3.2 is a great GPA for USC.

Mileage may vary.

How about sun shine? Yes! Finally got the first interview invite. Talked to a very nice lady at IUSDOM today, and unfortunatley the postal system has some flaws (like everyone else), regardless bring on Indy....go Colts..hah.

just kidding, I'm proud of the colts. I'm amazed at how well they have been doing. They will probably be the only team in history to go undefeated in the regular season and get shutout in the first playoff game :laugh:
 
I'm actually a bears fan, but i'm sure that i could convert my support to the colts if i got into iu. Has anyone other than perfect intervied there??

Got a secondary from Loma Linda.
I feel so guilty to say this.
I dont belong to any religious group. Does it mean I cant apply to Loma Linda, since they ask for a letter from minister/clergy?
 
Go pay off a priest and have him write you a letter. If you choose the right priest, perhaps he will even offer you a BJ!

You should have done your homework on Loma Linda before you applied. Or did you, and apply anyway?

I'm sure you are being sarcastic, but please try so show some tact in the arena of religion, because I'm sure there are a few other besides myself that have strong beliefs and wish for people like yourself to NOT make a mockery of them.

Come on, like the priest thing wasn't in the news for 3 months. I am not pulling anything out of my ass here. And I am not making a "mockery" of them, they have successfully accomplished that fleet by themselves. I am just shocked that any school requires a religious belief in order to attend.
 
Loma Linda is a private school; they can preserve whatever admissions requirements they choose. You've got 54 other chances to get into dental school.

We got the point long, <em>long</em> ago, croco, that you stand deeply entrenched against anybody else who stands for anything that involves even the <em>remotest</em> possibility of not wanting to associate with particular individuals. Appropriately, you defeat your own "can't we all just get along" remark with your own obvious conempt for people who can't get along. You're no better.
 
Got an interview at Columbia for 12/19. I wonder why it is so far away?? Any insight?

Sorry, but I dont understand that very long sentence you wrote 😕 . But I do agree with your point. Croco and I have had many battles on SDN on whats appropriate and whats not. He is probably the most crass SDN member I have seen in my 3.5 months on this forum. It was just a matter of time till he got banned.

Today, I received an interview at UNLV for December 5th.
 
ok i think i got the biggest tease today.

got a card from detroit mercy. as soon as i opened the evelope, the outside of the card read "Join US". so i got excitted thinking it was an interview invitation.

then you read the inside and it says we are inviting you for an open house. huh? what?

i have never heard of suck a thing. i don't have extra $$ to spend. can someone please tell me if i have to go to such an event or will it be a waste of money and time?
 
Yipee!! I received an interview invite from BU today.. and I've been receiving secondaries from a bunch of other schools.. I'm kinda getting exhausted of all these supps!!

Perfect. I don't think open house is an interview invite. However, I think it would be helpful if you can go "ONLY" under the situation that you call them and tell them you really want to join the open house. However, due to the expense of the traveling, could they also grant you an interview as well? If they don't give you any solid answer, then, write or email to the dean. I believe they can tell your mind, and pull your application out for interview. I do think your DAT score would earn you any interview. Let me know what would they say. I think it would be no problem!
 
Receive an interview from Univ. of Louisville on 11/21. Anyone who had interviewed there or know about the school coulg give me some suggestions?

Got a rejection letter from Iowa the other day.....But from what I hear that is almost standard if you are not a resident of the state.

But it still stings a little!!!
 
i feel for you all who apply to UIowa.
I got a rejection letter from them in other time.
though, it gives us two strengths.
one is a wake-up call.
if we want to get into dental sch, we better do something construtive.
the other one is i will value my 2nd app/interview/acceptance letters very much, knowing not all people can get to that stage.

for now, i m focusing on the first strength.
 
I just checked the UOP site and my status says "INTERVIEW!" I am so stoked. My first two interview invites are to the places I wanted to visit the most - UOP and Columbia. What a relief!
