Hello Colleagues!

Does anyone know: Does it matter at all when you certify your rank order list? For example is there any advantage in submitting it now vs on Feb 22?? 😕

Thanks!

It matters not, my colleague. I think one of the reasons they give you so much time to rank is that they can't be held liable if you are not able to submit on Feb 22 if something happens with their website or server. IMHO, you should submit and certify now, then change and re-certify if need be.

Good luck in the Match!

Hi,

I read somewhere that you should submit at least a week in advance to ensure that it will be received. I guess when it gets down to crunch time, there are so many people logging in that the system is prone to crashing. Anyway, good luck to you !

so, once you have certified a list, you can then make changes, re-certify it, and there will be no record whatsoever of the old list?

That's what it says on the NRMP website: "Once the currently displayed ROL has been modified online, the previous versions of the list are not retained in the R3 System, regardless of whether they were certified. The ROL that is displayed when the participant logs in is the only version on file with the NRMP."

To answer the original question, it might be a good idea to enter a working ROL once you have a fair idea. That way you have a certified ROL in the system in case something happens. I'm going out of the country and won't be back until a week before the deadline, so I'm going to try to certify a ROL before I leave in case I get stuck on an island (literally) and can't access the system.

Thanks for the replies! Good luck to all 😉
