This thread is for discussing applications to Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine in the 2024-2025 (class of 2029) cycle.
Hi all,
I'm a non traditional student looking for some advice for taking online pre reqs specifically for WSU (my in state!). Has anyone had success with taking courses from Doane or Portage Learning? I'm looking to take my intro biology courses online as I work full time. Admissions would not advise other than that the course descriptions should match theirs.
Any advice from others in a similar would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks so much! And no issues with them accepting it?Last year I repeated a few courses through Doane while I was working and I liked it. I felt the way everything was paced was perfect for me. They’re also accredited so I haven’t had any problems with them so far.
I suggest you search their library for the book they would be using and rent it through Prime, so you can save some money.
Thanks so much! And no issues with them accepting it?
I was wondering the same. I am also a Washington resident first-time applicant.I am curious if anyone has received any emails regarding interview invitations or rejections yet?
I am a Washington resident and last year I received a rejection email on November 3rd. I have been checking my email religiously the past few days, but there is nothing yet.
I suspect that is for OOS only as they do not interview.Looking at their website, all initial decisions are emailed December [emoji[emoji[emoji6

]]th. I’m a first time OOS applicant.
I was not familiar that they do not interview! Is there a reason why they don't do this? Or are there any other schools that don't interview? I have not heard anything from them as a first time OOS applicant.I suspect that is for OOS only as they do not interview.
School websites detail each admissions process. WSU does not interview oos applicants. Many schools don’t hold interviews for oos as the applicant pools are just too large for them to justify it. Some do it regardless. You’ll find info on each individual schools websitesI was not familiar that they do not interview! Is there a reason why they don't do this? I would suspect it would be by the end of this week since it's the first true week of NovemberI am curious if anyone has received any emails regarding interview invitations or rejections yet?

WSU used to interview all applicants but stopped interviewing OOS when COVID hit.I was not familiar that they do not interview! Is there a reason why they don't do this? Or are there any other schools that don't interview? I have not heard anything from them as a first time OOS applicant.
Two years ago, I got an interview invite on November 4th. So, if they follow their trend, you will probably receive an email from them this Friday!I am curious if anyone has received any emails regarding interview invitations or rejections yet?

Don't give up! I know many great vets that did not get in on their first round of applications. WSU previously offered application reviews in the spring. They usually send out an email with the timeframe. The application review will give you advice on how to improve your application for next year.I just got my rejection email today. Super bummed! I am IS and first time applicant.
Thank you for the information, that's very good to know. I did get in to SGU, so if I get no other offers (I applied to 7 schools) I'm pretty sure I will accept the SGU offer and head to the Caribbean for the next 3 years. 🙂 I wish you the best of luck in your interview. I have faith that you will crush it!!Don't give up! I know many great vets that did not get in on their first round of applications. WSU previously offered application reviews in the spring. They must have started that last year then. They probably had too high of a volume to offer reviews. In that case, I recommend people post in the WAMC thread.WSU last year said they were not offering reviews.
This was my third time applying, and got my first interview, many do not get it their first time
December.Does anyone know when OOS receive offers/rejection? Did not see time frame on website.
