same!! Also, nice pfp 😉oos past preliminary round!
It’s science GPA above 3.5 but I had around a 3.2 so they’re definitely holistic!Thank you so much for this info! 😄
I revisited the link in the generic "we are reviewing applications" email and went to the timeline!
No interviews for OOSOOS passed the screening! Do we get interviews too or no?
On the website this is what it says about OOS.I'm not sure about the cut off, but I have a higher GPA than that and got rejected
Same boat 🙁Yeah that wouldn’t make sense cause I’m an OOS with over a 3.5 and didn’t make it past
I have a 3.72 and was rejectedhttps://hub.wsu.edu/dvm-admissions/admissions-decisions/ So they linked this in the email about the preliminary round but also it seems the info is contradictory as they make it seem anyone with a 3.5+ GPA passes the preliminary screening. Not sure what the accurate info is:/
I’m sorry😞 it’s so frustrating that so many qualified applicants get turned away. Wish there were more answers from them regarding why they make decisions. Possibly file reviews?I have a 3.72 and was rejected
Thanks! I am waiting for other schools. I honestly wasn’t expecting to get into Washington because I know it’s very hard when you’re not WISCHEI am so sorry this has happened 😔 it doesn't make sense. I hope you are waiting for other schools. This isn't over! 🙂
Lol my science GPA is 3.5 and my overall is 3.6 so I barely missed itOn the website this is what it says about OOS.
Applicants with a science GPA above 3.5 and a last 45 semester (60 quarter) credit GPA above 3.6 are generally considered to have a previous record of academic excellence indicative of success within the professional veterinary curriculum. Non-resident applicants who meet the GPA criteria are automatically forwarded to the admissions committee for further review of their academic background and additional application criteria.
Ugh sorry. I barely made it. My science is 3.52 and overall 3.64 LOLLol my science GPA is 3.5 and my overall is 3.6 so I barely missed it
Do they accept more WICHE than other OOS? I wasn’t sure if it was an advantage or looked at equally. Thanks! I am waiting for other schools. I honestly wasn’t expecting to get into Washington because I know it’s very hard when you’re not WISCHE
Hmmm not sure would like to know as well but I hadn’t been planning on sending them for January since it wasn’t mentioned 🤷♀️i assume if it didn’t say in the email we had to send fall transcripts we don’t? I only had one post bacc class I was taking for a prerequisite but idk if I need to send them that ?
I'm wondering this also! I think bc there are less WICHE students, it's a smaller pool you are considered in if that makes any senseDo they accept more WICHE than other OOS? I wasn’t sure if it was an advantage or looked at equally.
Washington typically offers around 25 acceptances to OOS applicantsI'm wondering this also! I think bc there are less WICHE students, it's a smaller pool you are considered in if that makes any sense
OmgWashington typically offers around 25 acceptances to OOS applicants
Tough for OOS candidates who don't have an instate school. Definitely at a disadvantage from the start.
That's mean no hope for OOS applicants even we passed the pre-screen roundWashington typically offers around 25 acceptances to OOS applicants
🤷♀️ . I’m not even sure how many people passed the preliminary screening. If they had over 2500 applications I can’t imagine they slimmed that down significantly or maybe they did? That's mean no hope for OOS applicants even we passed the pre-screen round
yeah 25 seats for OOS is insane. As an east coast rat it ain't looking too good scoob...That's mean no hope for OOS applicants even we passed the pre-screen round
Except the 25 🤣That's mean no hope for OOS applicants even we passed the pre-screen round
Also curious about this too🤷♀️ . I’m not even sure how many people passed the preliminary screening. If they had over 2500 applications I can’t imagine they slimmed that down significantly or maybe they did?
You sure it’s for this year?I saw a video on TikTok of someone (OOS) receiving an acceptance call from WSU? Are they already sending out acceptances? I thought it wouldn't be until January
yes which is why I'm confused and also I thought they'd email and not call lolYou sure it’s for this year?
interesting… i seen this vid as well. it doesnt make sense either because they said they would reach out in January. maybe they were in state? not sure if that makes a differenceyes which is why I'm confused and also I thought they'd email and not call lol
I saw the same TikTok. I was looking into the WSU admission process and Montana residents did their interviews on nov 19-20 and it says that decision are released 2-3 weeks after the interview. After that is the non resident review.yes which is why I'm confused and also I thought they'd email and not call lol
Ohhh I see! Thanks for the clarification 🙂I saw the same TikTok. I was looking into the WSU admission process and Montana residents did their interviews on nov 19-20 and it says that decision are released 2-3 weeks after the interview. After that is the non resident review.
I was going crazy checking my email after watching that TikTok. That’s why I checked their website to make sure. Not sure if the guy that was accepted was a Montana resident but that’s what I’m guessingOhhh I see! Thanks for the clarification 🙂
Other states with contract seats have interviewed alreadyIn state still interviews, which aren’t until the end of January for everyone
Other states with contract seats have interviewed already
what states do these include? california is part of WICHE so do we start getting calls right now too if we're accepted?Wsu calls in state people I think! So it would make sense that they’d also call the WICHE / WIMU ppl 🙂
congratulations!!!!! <3Hi everybody! I got the call yesterday, too! Accepted! AHHH!!! I cannot BELIEVE it, because WSU has been my top choice school.. and I was expecting to find out in January. When I saw a missed call from Washington state, I literally fell over.
For those still waiting, DON'T panic. This seems like it was for a very small group of prospective WICHE students which make up the smallest fraction of applicants. They emailed after the call, which said specifically:
"We are making early admission offers to outstanding nonresident applicants who are certified by one of our WICHE partner states."
Can't wait to see who else is in WSU c/o 2029! I live very far away and will be leaving my toddlers, hubby and small zoo back home. It will be great to connect with other students coming in.
Go Cougs!
Thank you!!! From their email, it sounds like they are specifically making offers to select non-residents who are certified by WICHE.congratulations!!!!! <3
California is apart of WICHE but only does undergraduate funding (WUE). Unfortunately California does not participate in PSEP, which is what funds health related degrees due to the fact that California operates many health professions programs. So as far as I understand, California is a WICHE state but not in regards to veterinary school! I’m a CA resident and couldn’t use WICHE for veterinary school applications despite being on the WUE right now.what states do these include? california is part of WICHE so do we start getting calls right now too if we're accepted?
Correct California is not WICHE for vet schools bc there’s Davis for ISCalifornia is apart of WICHE but only does undergraduate funding (WUE).
