"The 12-year-old African tortoise had a caster-style wheel attached to his shell by doctors at Washington State University's veterinary hospital after they had to amputate his badly injured leg.

"The 10.5kg tortoise, called Gamera after the giant flying turtle in old Japanese monster movies, is gaining weight and thriving with his artificial leg."

I can't open the link.. :/ Is it just my computer or is there something wrong with the links?

When you click on the link it seems to delete the colon after the http in the new window/tab. I don't really know how you would fix the links though. The tortoise looks pretty cool in the pictures. It's great that he's getting better.

Copy and paste. Got it!

That is pretty great. They are probably going to have to swap his wheel out at some point, though.

I got it now. That is a very beautiful turtle. Love it. :]

The wheel looks pretty useless … hahaha. Not that it wasn't a good idea, but the turtle doesn't seem to use it at all. There's an amputee snapping turtle where I work and it moves around just fine on three legs.

And it's really a lot faster than I would EVER EXPECT A TURTLE, let alone one with three legs, to be.

Though it's too bad more animals don't have non-living exteriors we can attach stuff to … you could get so much more creative.
