I have an interview on the 11th, anyone have any tips?
The first thing I would say is to just relax and not stress out. Like a lot of people have already said before, pretty much everyone you'll encounter during your interview day is really nice and will make you feel welcome. Make sure you're not late. I'd even go so far as to say don't be on time,
be early. Angie and Annette in the Admissions Office are very nice and friendly so don't be afraid to strike up a conversation with them if you have any down time.
The rest of this is probably nothing you haven't heard or read before but review your application because your interviewers will know it well. Make sure you can elaborate on anything you mentioned in your application, especially if you think it makes you stand out. If there are any rough spots in your application and you get asked about them, just be upfront and honest about what happened. But put a positive spin on the situation by highlighting any improvements or any lessons you learned.
If you have time before or after your interview, sit in on a class, talk to some students, and take a look around town. It'll give you a chance to get some feedback about the school and see what's available to you in the area. I was the last person to be interviewed on the day I went so I used the extra time to look around town. It was my first time in Lewisburg and I liked it so I brought that up during my interview.
I don't know how frequently it has come up during interviews, but it never hurts to be up-to-date on current events involving health care and medicine.
Don't be afraid to ask the interviewers questions too. Since they're conducting interviews, they're probably extremely familiar with the school and can offer great insight or answer just about any questions you have about the school. I think it's always nice to ask a personal question about what they like to do for fun or what brought them to WVSOM or something like that, just as a little break from the ordinary.
If you haven't already done so, check out the Interview Feedback section under the Databases tab. There's a lot of good tips and advice.
Hope this helps. Good luck!
