Yeah, like Jil, I am in pretty bad shape, but still village. With the wording of Coop's role, specifically the "representing CANCER" part, I'm wondering if the wolves could actually be umbrella categories, represented by a single member of that category. So, Coop was cancer, but there could also be someone representing infectious disease, someone for vector-borne disease, someone for chronic disease/aging (... @SummerTheLynx ? ), someone for toxicoses...what am I forgetting?

Oh, trauma. I guess that could be another category.

I would imagine at least an infectious and a metabolic/internal organ dz wolf based off what I know. But there are likely at least two more unless trilt made this game concert heavy.

No real reason -- I just separated them in my own head. Didn't @DVMDream mention Bravecto earlier? That made me think we could have some parasitic/vector-borne stuff floating around (lyme, heartworm, etc), which I was bucketing under a different umbrella than say, canine influenza or panleuk. Real bugs vs. germ "bugs". I dunno dude, I just took a 2.5 hour test and my brain is fried haha.

But if your question was designed to get at why I was arriving at a certain number of categories, then that gets to the meat of why I was thinking it might be useful to think of it in terms of buckets: # of wolves. And more specifically, it could help us figure out when running tests via cdo would be more useful, and what tests might be useful for identifying a wolf in a given bucket.

That's what I was thinking as well, I just wanted to clarify. If other people think we need to run a full blood panel on Lyra, we can do so. It just seemed odd to me that the post restriction would be from anything other than villager. Unless she self imposed a restriction...?


I have to choose one test on a specific individual.

For instance. I can run a full blood panel on Lyra. Or I could do a physical examination on Dubz. Or I could do a urinalysis on STL, etc etc. (I have access to what the average clinic has- so I'm sure ultrasound and X-rays could work as well). I have to choose one test to do per (36 hour) day. Does that make sense?

So like what LIS was implying is to do very general tests. There's no point in doing a parvo test on a patient who actually has a broken leg.

Sorry, did not mean to imply specifically that you should run full blood on Lyra - I just meant to suggest that if we're going to run tests, don't run (for instance) a small test that's a subset of a generally accepted broader test (so don't run a renal panel when you could run full chemistry or even cbc/chem/lytes).

That's all. Just meant we should gather as much info as possible. But if there's a need for a very specific test (like parvo, for instance), then by all means.....

Except people don't use MDB consistently. Some people mean CBC/Chem/Lytes. Some people mean survey bloodwork + UA. Some people mean ..... etc.

Well I hope nobody says "omg serher you're being too defensive" with me defending myself... because I'm tied for the lead so I will just go ahead and post it.

Hopefully this means something to @nyanko since she played the last game with me and was a mentor during the noob game... but my posting style this game is waaaaay more similar to how I posted in the noob game as a villager. Last game I made a huge effort to catch my sketchy posts before I posted them (because, well, I was a wolf and didn't want people to jump on them). As pippy pointed out, my posts were longer and more well thought out as a wolf because I was trying really hard to be helpful. I posted my first post this game because it was my honest feelings; you should see that I wouldn't have posted something like that as a wolf given how hard I tried not to last game. I know this isn't the most sound reasoning but that's the best I can defend my posting style this early in the game. And I'm a noob, would my posting style really have changed THAT much as a wolf from one game to the next? Unless you think I am an extremely cunning wolf (which I am not), the answer should be "no".

If you still don't believe me, you all can decide to perform a blood test on me as I mentioned above. But I am going to be gone until the afternoon so you will have to actually ask me what the test is first because I don't expect it to be included in a general profile.

FWIW (maybe nothing) I don't think defending 'early' is wolfy. I think some people inherently like to defend quickly, and some people like to sit back and see if the votes stack against them. And sometimes it depends on what your role is. All in all there's too much variability for me to think it means much, although I do try and keep some general idea of any individual's tendency as far as defensiveness.

Establishing a good defense isn't just about responding to what people see as sketchy. It's about getting out there and establishing a position. Aggressively going after wolves is as much a defense as trying to respond to some specifically sketchy wording or something.

And, asking "what did I say that's sketchy" might be 100% innocent and well-intended, but it also can be interpreted as a wolf trying to dig for info (like where a seer might be).

Just some thoughts. *shrug*

Your argument "would my posting style really have changed" is kinda meh.

With regards to the blood test, someone else asked to be checked too. At this point I'm not sure we know precisely how that would be useful. (Though maybe there's more discussion about it I haven't gotten to yet.)

Gives my feathers the ruffles. If all you've got to defend is a role reveal then it's not much of a defense at all.

Yeah. My take on Coopah's role reveal is that it reinforces that roles aren't going to be super helpful.

I mean, I'm a sick pet, and there are obviously other sick pets in the game, and I'm hard-pressed to see a significant difference between Coopah's role and mine that would help separate wolf from villager. Maybe the degree of severity or, put differently, the ease of treatment..... but even with that, some TCC's are pretty treatable and some are not. *shrug*

I dunno. I'm kinda hanging my hat on Trilt's "don't think about roles too much" advice.

The best defense is a good offense (or is it vice versa? 😛 ) Do some analysis, organize your reads, etc. Beyond that just respond to concerns as best you can. I mean, I can't promise you won't still get lynched, but it helps the village either way, way more than a role reveal.

You really weren't expecting it because her disease had really been managed OK up to this point... but @Karabiner13's eyes were even glassier than normal this morning, and she was, unfortunately quite dead. That's a ****ty phone call to make.

There sure seemed to have been a lot of action last night, though. A lot of the cages were just slightly differently arranged, doors maybe not as tightly closed, things just a little off... the techs were a little confused.

In any case, dead is @Karabiner13, a 5yo Yorkie with Hepatic Microvascular Dysplasia. With her staring into space glare, she could track the person of her choice every ODD night.

It is now Day 1, and there are 22 patients in the hospital. Lynch deadline with be 8PM EST tomorrow evening (03/05).

Lol that was nutmeg in...Arcanum I think? Had a meltdown on the thread, rage quit in glorious fashion, I think actually succeeded in getting people to back off for a bit, but was indeed a wolf.

It is only one day since I have been brought to this strange place with the cold metal sleeping boxes and odd humans with blue and white fur, but it feels like many days. I have been poked and prodded for no good reason by the authorities, but they continue to torment me with no end in sight. I tried to aim my liquid poop to land on their shoes to show my displeasure. Alas, they move too quickly.

I will try to look for an escape route so we can frolic outside in the sunshine. There is no sunshine here.

I was thinking that I wanted to look at hazel as well for some comments yesterday (plus she was in karabou's group), coopah hopping on this but fairly quickly waffling gives me another reason.

Why don't you verify with WZ or MJ? they can confer with STL if your hesitant. This reluctance makes you look suspicious.

This was in response to Pippy and doesn't feel like wolf-wolf interaction to me. Very slight village points for Pippy.

As far as I can tell AM was just speculating, this points to confrontation where there was none. This can be very distracting for the village.



PBC was the first to start the villager code nonsense on thread, also a rather big distraction.



She then calls villager code BS, and jumps on Lyra who seemed like an easy target. PBC is my best idea for a wolf this early.

I may be biased because I think PBC is villaging, but this really reads like coopah just trying to save herself and get a villager lynched instead. And it's weird that she calls PBC out for jumping on lyra as an "easy target" when she had stated suspicions of her earlier as well. Little bit of slight support for AM in there too, although I think it's unlikely that coopah would have used a fellow wolf to defend her.

So I could go hazel or gwen today, maybe lyra.

(Really, the category thing isn't useful - just consider broad differential categories using whatever mnemonic you learned... DAMN-IT, VINDICTATE(M), VITAMINSABCDEK, etc.)

It may hint at how we can make testing useful.

Particularly pay attention to what is said by the one who smells of snow, and the one who smells like that trip to the zoo we took (before I was brought to this forsaken place). They seem wise.

I have been trying for the last hour to chew the plastic tubing they have used to tether me to the cage. It appears to be filled with fluid. I will attempt to spray them with it as a bonus, if I can manage to detach myself, that is.

Oh I remember something like this happening in an earlier game! (I'm tempted to say the farm noob game with dubz and MJ). But there was a character who "distributed" post restrictions and had to pick a new player every day to give a post restriction to.

But... in that game they were all the same restriction (I think talking backwards). It'd definitely be something to keep an eye on.

The authorities with the blue and white fur seem to be monsters. They have tried to stop me from howling and yipping in an attempt to locate my siblings. Now they have taken you from me as well, my new found friend who visited me in the darkness last night. When will this madness stop? I cannot see an end to it.

I continue to chew this plastic tube. I thought I had managed to dislodge it, but there is sticky material anchoring it in place. It is stuck to my fur. I will overcome it, but first I need to nap.

I will dream of when we are able to leave this place. Perhaps we will meet again as friends who can speak normally to each other, without the "shhhhh!s" from the authorities.
