Did UCLA Venice send out invites?
The match memorandum basically says that if you do not wish to participate in Match for any reason or rank any school either because you got into a non-match program or you dont wish to join any program then you can withdraw from match before JAN 10TH 2014. Also, if you do not match with any school you can participate in post-match where some schools list out or display the number of seats or positions available in schools that was not filled up from Match which is uploaded in the Match website. Then you can contact the schools and ask them if you have a chance.Hi,
I am international trained dentist, who applied to three schools, out of which two participates in MATCH. But none of the schools have so far invited me for an interview.
This morning I have received this email from MATCH.
The attached pdf document (MatchParticipation.pdf) provides you with instructions for participating in the Postdoctoral Dental Matching Program (the "Match") and obtaining your Match result, or for withdrawing from the Match. The document includes an 8-page Memorandum and a 1-page Checklist of Procedures.
Can anyone, please explain, what is the process and what should I do? Thanks
Well, NOVA and USC have sent out invites!!! But Rutgers has not sent out any yet.Thank you for the post, I have applied to USC , Rutegrs and NOVA.
You have to be interviewed first to rank any school. If not there is no point ranking any as none of them would rank you!! But, post-match you can contact the schools that list the unfilled positions and ask them.Thank you so much tinap, so should I do match ranking only for Rutgers or shall I wait to see whether they invite me for the interview. As a international trained dentist, whole PASS/MATCH process is very time consuming and unclear.

Hello ,
I am new to the pedo residency application cycle and wonder if anyone can help advise me . I applied late this cycle. I submitted my application for Oct 15 deadlines and as of today have not heard from any programs.
My questions are advice : 1.) on applying to post match positions how does this work? What do I need to have ready for this scramble.
2.) Would you suggest just preparing to reapplying for 2015 app. cycle since I'm so late in the current process.
3.) What strategy has been the most helpful as you have prepared for the process?
Thanks for all your help.
when did you submit? Most interviews go out well before the programs respective dealines.... why? they want people ahead of the ball game. Hope you can get something, if not, submit early July... Don't give up!Hello ,

Better late than never I guess.
1. If you've submitted your application to a program, and they have post match positions, then they already have your application. All you'd have to do is let the program know. If you haven't submitted your application to a program with post-match, they will probably want you to submit it. Call and check with the director at that program.
2. I wouldn't prepare for 2015 just yet. If you don't mind going anywhere, see what post match has to offer. Additionally, it's not unheard of for a resident to quit in the middle of their residency. So you may have a spot open up for you that way, just don't count on it.
3. The strategy I will discuss is if you re-apply next year. My strategy is to go on the AAPD website and look at all the programs available. Identify the ones you would like to be at, and then contact the programs and visit them prior to applying. If you can visit all the programs you apply to, then chances are they'll be more likely to interview you. In the meantime, find an office where you can see lots of Pedo. An alternative is to do a GPR that is focused on PEDO. People on here talk about one in OKC, that is run much like a Pedo program.
Good luck to you!
