That would be a negative. Only two people on SDN have received an acceptance. And that was over the phone.

No letters have been mailed to my knowledge.

The rest of us post-interviewers should start hearing something by Mid-Jan.

Oh, okay, much earlier than me (early December). I don't anticipate hearing back before mid-January at least, but the waiting is so difficult!

What did you think of the school?

I really liked it. I didn't think I would going there, but I did.

uci decisions for 11/5 are out!!!! yay!!!! i'm going to be a doctor!!! sorry...i am a bit crazed...none of my friends will answer my phone calls and i need to do some screaming..haha.. best of luck to everyone! 🙂

thanks guys! got the call from Dean Peterson last night (Saturday night..around 6PM). So I interviewed 11/5 and response was 12/15...so about 6 weeks turn around time.

wow!!

I know the committee met last thursday to discuss 11/27 interviews, so I was kind of expecting the call this weekend 🙁. I guess gonna have to wait more

anyone have information on whether or not UCLA is receptive to "in town" notifications. I have an interview at USC at the end of feb and would really like to avoid having to travel from Houston twice. Has anyone does this before?

I posted this in the Part I thread, but I didn't know there was now a part II:

Would not writing a letter of intent or interest ever hurt an applicant's chances of getting into a school they interviewed at? It appears to me that a large number of applicants are writing these letters...would the adcom look ever look at an absence of a LOI as a sign of disinterest? i interviewed at UC Davis and really feel that the school is a good fit for me, it's definitely my #1 choice. I emailed thank you's to my interviewers but haven't written any loi's, what do you guys think? thanks!

My interviewer at Davis (who was awesome, btw) said that if I was really interested in Davis, it would be good to send them a letter telling them that I'm interested. She said it can make a big difference if it's down to you and another person when they're looking at the total package on decision day and they see that letter in there.

I doubt that not sending one would hurt you- it just might tip the balance in your favor it it's close. Good luck :luck:

My justification for not wanting to go to UCSF is that if I did go there, the police would probably kick me out after a few hours since I wouldn't be a student.

I know that many people are hoping to hear back post-interview, but I'm still waiting and hoping for interview invites! I sure hope I get another invite before the break; it'll really give me some peace of mind.

i got my UC Davis post-interview rejection today~ disappointed and 😕 because i LOVED it there, but i'm still happy and grateful for how the rest of the application cycle has been going. 🙂

I am always baffled when a student gets accepted at UCSD while rejected at a UC Davis, and it seems to happen often for some reason. With your extracurriculars, I cannot understand how Davis, with their "service oriented" clinics and emphasis on primary care, could not see that your aligned with their educational goals. Besides, your stats are great. I guess it comes down to the interview for most of us. If your interview went well, or there was no flagrant mishaps, then it looks like I too, will be getting the Davis axe in the next few days (interviewed end of Oct).

but my interviewer emailed me that he thought i'd be a good fit for davis, so i don't think they went horribly or anything. anyway, just goes to show we will never understand this process! good luck to you too-- i know you really liked davis 🙂 and sf!! 😀

nevermind..for anyone else who may be curious..the uc davis prime interview will cover both the MD program as well as the uc davis prime--so the outcome of the interview can be either md only, md+ prime, or nothing =(

and sorry i totally interrupted the thread...i get really spastic sometimes..yellowumbrella i second that things can totally be a crapshoot--congrats on SD and thanks for keeping us updated on davis...and silverlining---you are awesome!! always so supportive and encouraging..there is no doubt in my mind that the interview gods will be pouring over ur house (as its pouring rite now in san francisco =) )--and i also think u have a great chance at ur first choice!!!

The subject says it all... Just got a Davis interview by email after 3 months of waiting (Secondary completed in September) Scheduling my interview was really easy. They picked up the phone right away, and all dates were available (they only interview Mondays and Thurdays) in January. Good luck to anyone else still waiting.

So I checked my status page yesterday and got an interview invite from UCI and scheduled my interview, but I never received an email from UCI offering me an interview... is that normal? I know I'm paranoid, but I'm afraid that they maybe made a mistake on my status page.

don't worry, it's not a mistake 🙂

congrats on teh interview. the same thing happened to me. this is one of those few cases when being paranoid and checking status pages 100 times a day pays off. but i am not sure how that works, though 😕. I am guessing if you don't schedule it within a certain time period, they'll email you? don't know

I'm in utter disbelief... Ed Dagang just called me and told me I was accepted at UC Davis...my top choice! The whole time I thought I was dreaming, but my cell phone call log indicates that the call did in fact take place. Oh my god, I'm super excited!
