Do you guys think i can use the same essay question response in both KCOM's and KCUMB's secondaries? The question deals with the qualities I can bring to each college.

hey all,
I've filled out PCOM-Ga's secondary and LECOM-erie's secondary. I just got PCOM-phila and LECOM-B's secondary today. Can I use my essays I wrote for the other branches or do I have to change them? I know PCOM asks why you want to attend the campus so I know I have to change that. Everything else I was hoping to keep the same. You thoughts?
Got a rejection from KCUMB today. That means all schools are accounted for as far as secondaries are concerned. Now I just wait for all of those interview invites! 😛
Nate.
I can't think of a good reason not to prioritize the apps in order of where you would like to go (as long as you feel your competitive). That's what I did and luckily my first choice worked out; granted, DMU's secondary was a breeze.so i admit it. i've been slacking on my secondaries. i just took the 8/16 mcat and have been receiving secondary invites (DO and MD) pretty consistently for the last few months or so, but i was too busy studying for a class and the mcat. i guess i'm just a little overwhelmed at this point. i have a few more weeks until my scores are released and my goal is to have all of my apps submitted by then.
where do you guys think i should start - in the order i received them? in the order of where i want to go? the ones with the hardest/easiest questions first? the ones where i think i have the best shot? how did you approach it?
even if you have no strong desire to attend these schools? I understand the hedging-your-bets approach but I know I really got burnt out filling out secondaries and by the time I came to the end I just wanted it to be over.the order where you have a better chance of getting in over where you think you can't

That's all very true; however, after doing research (internet, open houses, contacts currently in med school) about your schools you are applying to, can't you decide what schools will be most conducive to your learning style (required attendance, elective opportunities) and move them to the top of your list of what secondaries to get into? I also think you will be the most enthusiastic filling out those apps. You don't want to let a top choice sit at the bottom and then think "I have to answer why I want to be a DO again?"I like your enthusiasm, but he needs to be realistic also ... you can have a great desire to go to a particular school, but you won't be accepted based on feelings alone. On the other hand, you can grow to like a certain school after acceptance. After all, we all aim to be great physicians. If your intent is true, you'll make it no matter where you go.

Would it be a bad move to get my applications in to a few schools that have a DO letter as just a suggestion...I dont have one yet, will start shadowing in a few weeks, and would prefer to not wait until December to get applications in that dont HAVE to have a letter from a DO. Is this not a good idea to get them in, such as NYCOM, even though the DO letter is merely suggested??

My school doesn't have any premed committee or anything like that, and I certainly don't know my Dean of the school that well to ask him for a letter. Anyone knows what to do in this situation???
- Letter of evaluation from the premedical committee, premedical advisor, or Dean of the college granting the undergraduate degree. Individual faculty letters do not fulfill this

On the KCUMB secondary, in what format did you answer the question, "In what extracurricular, community... have you participated? Did you guys do it in list format with or without an explanation? Or, did you look at it as an essay?
Has anyone filled out VCOM's secondary application? If they have, can you let me know how you approached some of the deep questions that they ask in their application like how osteopathic and allopathic medicine parallel yet differentiate and what are the problems in healthcare in our society today. Any feedback would be great.
Are you guys double spacing the essays that you have to physically mail in? I can't tell which looks more professional.
Single spaced, IMHO 😀
GOOD LUCK![]()
I read the postings about this earlier in the thread, but still wanted to ask anyway....I am completing the UNECOM secondary application.
So, the question about if you know anyone at the school, have talked with anyone from admissions, etc. Of course, I am going to be honest but since this is considered an "essay", do you think it's acceptable to just simply state that that I have had no contact with anyone from the school and have not visited? If so, my answer is only going to be about a sentence long. I guess that's better than stretching it out into a paragraph of b.s., but wanted to know what other people in the same situation have done.
thanks!!
Himm. Have you talked to UNECOM students via SDN? If so, just say you had an anonymous conversation with a student on a premed forum.
I hope they are the same because I about to send them off. FO SHIZZLE MY NIZZLE
i just got one from my advisor, who in essence advised me about being pre-med... kept it short and sweetFrom GA-PCOM
