maybe so...but does the 251 refer to people who were outright accepted or does it include those who were eventually accepted as well?
what did the letter say regarding further correspondence to people on the HP list?
Keep the hope alive 🙂
I'm pretty sure the 250 number is the number of ppl who were eventually accepted to fill the 150 spots.
I am so nervous right now, I still haven't heard anything and I interviewed Feb 3rd. I know that at this point it is good news that I haven't already received a WL/Rejection letter, but there still is a chance that I wasn't reviewed and will have to wait until next month. I thought about calling just to ask if my file had been reviewed, but I'm not sure if they let us know that kind of information. I will probably just suck it up and wait until the end of March, if I don't hear anything by then, I'll call.
Just to help out those who are still waiting to hear back, I got a WL letter (high priority position) Friday. It was post-marked 3/19, and I live in the bay area.
Does anybody know the chances of getting in after being placed in a high priority position? I am not giving up hope but still want to know where I stand!
By the way, thanks to everybody on this thead. It was really helpful.

Oh crap heart is racing right now!!!
Where do you live?
No news today, phew... I live in the Bay Area
Well, the truth of it all is that quite a few people get in off the waitlist. When I was interviewing there, most of the students that I met got in that way. So I'd say that you are still in fairly good shape, especially since they've already awarded acceptances off the waitlist this application year.I interviewed the first week of Feb. I was hoping that the lateness of the letter meant good news, but oh well... I have to say my heart sank when I saw that envelop 🙁
really? UCSF brags that their avg debt upon graduation is ~$66k. Do you mean in comparison to other state schools or private schools?Well, the truth of it all is that quite a few people get in off the waitlist. I interviewed the second week of February as an OOS applicant and have yet to hear, so I'm still hoping for good news come late next week. I really liked the campus and the student body, though I'm afraid that it is going to be prohibitively expensive for me to attend. Even CA residents who I know that have been accepted to UCSF have said that they are in for some pretty heavy debt come graduation.
I would imagine that the cost of attending UCSF is definitely more expensive than your average state school and comparable, if not more expensive, to private schools. In Texas, you could go to UTSW and pay, according to their financial aid table, just shy of $18K if you're a resident, $31K if you are an out-of-stater for the whole package minus cost of living.really? don't worry, you're money 🙂No news today, phew... I live in the Bay Area
Has anybody that has been accepted already received a financial aid package? If this isn't too nosy of me, what was it like?
For those who received the "High Priority" letter early on, do you have this message on your status page:
"Correspondence has been mailed to you regarding your application to the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine. If you have not received it, you may call the Admissions Office. Please note that we are unable to discuss status information over the phone."
I interviewed Nov, received high priority Jan, but just noticed this message last week.
Was this change made after you received the high priority letter, or should I be expecting something in the mail some time soon?
i got that after i received the HP letter.![]()
Best ofto all of you! If they do mail packets on 3/26, then Bay Area people will get them Friday...! 🙂 Please join the UCSF C/O 2013 thread in the allo forums - it's pretty dead now, so it'll be great to have more people posting! 😀

So according to a previous post they should be mailing out a batch of letters tomorrow. Can we all make sure to post if our status changes on the ucsf website. I hope they stick to their word and actually send letters out tomorrow.
My status didn't change for a while after I got accepted- I didn't know it would change so I didn't check very often, but I definitely remember it still saying "thank you for interviewing" or whatever it says after I had been accepted. Then I just checked a few days ago after all the updates on here and it does say "something has been mailed to you."So according to a previous post they should be mailing out a batch of letters tomorrow. When I called last week they told me they would send letters out on or around March 26. Can someone call and ask if they do in fact plan to send letters out tomorrow?
how/where do you apply? I had no idea this was something to be doing right now. Does anyone know about couples housing at UCSF? thanks!I applied for UCSF housing (parnassus) with Jul 1st as my move in date. I'm not entirely sure how this works, but it seems like the units can be 2 bedrooms for 2 people, or 3+ people in a shared group house, where everybody has their own room.
We're allowed to request roommates (er, apartment-mates?), I think. Anybody else moving in around that time? I'd prefer not to have a totally random roommate, although I'm sure that could work out just fine, too.
Gah I cracked and called. I was told, "Only acceptance letters are going out tomorrow"....
Maybe some good news this weekend? Gaaahhhhh
so I found the answer to my questions 🙂 and I applied for housing as well, but family housing. The application process was weird, I don't like that they wait to tell you whether you get an apartment until 2 months before move-in, especially since I see the apartments advertised on Craigslist right now!how/where do you apply? Sounds like you're pretty sure you're going to UCSF. Are you still considering other schools? Also, don't classes at UCSF start in September?
Snowshoes, can you check to see if you have a change on your status page saying you were mailed something?
Sorry for the lateness of my reply.
I just checked and it still says:
"Your file will soon undergo full Committee review. As soon as a decision is reached, you will be notified via U.S. mail. This may occur any time between now and May. However, we will make every effort to complete our review of your application in a timely manner."
I guess HPL decision isn't considered "a decision." 😀
that's kinda weird. i'm HPL and i got a status change with notification of a letter being sent.. oh well. my fate is in the hands of.. well whoever's in charge up there :;cough;: dean wofsy :;cough;:
When did you get HPL? It might be just lagging for me since I got HPL last Friday.
