Hey ya'll

I was accepted at MUSC but I just got in off the waitlist at Columbia. I e-mailed Joan this afternoon and officially withdrew. I was totally pumped about Charleston but I am a man of opportunity. I don't like posting on SDN but I know there are people who derive hope from these type of posts. I was one of them until this morning. Good luck to everyone. The 2009-2010 cycle isn't over yet.

I was emailed about a $4000 "Rich Scholarship" about two hours ago. The wording of the email makes it seem like it's only for the next year. I'll withdraw tomorrow.

To people who have gotten your financial aid:

are many Instate people getting any grants/scholarships or for the most part does MUSC have almost everyone paying full sticker price?

I sent an e-mail last week wondering about financial aid and I was told they weren't sending that out until the beginning of June, which I was not told what that consisted of. I'm assuming it was just what standard Stafford loans. I just got a small scholarship offer today in the mail that was sent on the 12th and letter dated the 6th.

I got an email saying that I didn't get any grants at all. It was all apologetic about how they don't have much funding this year. I was still disappointed because I'm a single mother with 3 kids and would have really appreciated some extra help. Oh well. I'm just happy to be starting soon!

I found out what the background check request was for. I was accepted at East Carolina yesterday and Wake Forest University today! I can't believe my waitlist luck came all at once. I love MUSC, but I think I am going to Wake! I will be opening up an OOS spot come Monday- good luck guys!

We applied to a lot of the same places... I just got accepted to ECU as well, but am still on the OOS MUSC Alternate..

More and more OOS are withdrawing... still hoping for the best!

Does anyone know anything about the typical movement of the alternate list, such as how many people on average are generally offered acceptance off of the alternate list?
