Man, I am excited for all of you with interviews, but it's hard to not start beating yourself up at this point...

Thus far: 0 interviews; 24 secondaries submitted... Sigh...

I know how you feel! Even though I have interviews, I have not received the ones that I really want... From any of the Texas schools. Everyday a few people on SDN rave about their Texas interview invites, and it makes me so sad. 🙁 It makes me feel like I am not ever going to get a chance to stay in Texas.

But then I try to tell myself that it's still very early, and most people that get interviews and acceptances do not even interview this early... I could interview in March and still get an acceptance. There is no rush I guess, the outcome will be the same. Just keep your head up and know that regardless of what other people are doing, you will get where you are going.

Yea, I go to UCLA but I haven't graduated yet. I just finished my third year and I'm going to be a senior! (or I'm officially a senior since it's already summer, lol). I only submitted a DO letter and the dean's certification (just like what DbDan told you). 🙂

Like I said UCLA's letter service will compile them and it will be sufficient, UCLA also offers that dean letter to be safe 🙂 Just call PCOM and speak with them, they are friendly and will tell you what you need to have. They told me they would accept the letter packet even w/o a pre-med committee letter or deans letter or advisor letter

Don't worry moosey my man, only a couple of those 24 schools have handed out interviews so you've still got a waaaaays to go before you need to start worrying. I'm right there with ya, applied as early in the cycle as possible but only have one interview. We still got plenty of schools to hear from 👍.

Frick!!! DO NOT FILL OUT THE TOURO APPLICATION YET! It doesn't have a user and password so you can't save it for later, and when you get to the end of it and click submit it doesn't work... That was an hour of my life that I will never get back... Also, it came by email and there is no essay! 😛

And I am always first because I am awesome... Hehehehe. Or maybe because my last name starts with an A. But I would prefer thinking that I am awesome. 😉

Thanks a bunch! I looked it up on ucsd website and there were instructions on how to get a dean's certification. I just submitted a primary to PCOM. Hopefully, I will get my secondary soon.

I applied to PNWU and received a secondary from them but my primary was released 6/6 and I am from the Northwest. Others who were released around the same time as me and were not from the Northwest were told their apps would be placed on hold until Dec so they could look at those from the area first. However people who told the admissions the reasons they wanted to move the NW were given secondaries.

Since they just entered their 3rd class, I think they will have most of the kinks out of the way before next year. I talked with the admissions counselor and it sounds like they have set up a good variety of rotations. The only thing that I am worried about is that there aren't that many residency positions in the NW, so I feel like those that want to stay in the NW will be fighting for them.

Did you also apply to the new Western Campus?

Serves you right for being the only one who has gotten the secondary so far. Interesting that there is no essay though. Also kinda disappointing considering its 100 freaking dollars. Its kinda like NYMC. Feels like I'm being robbed blind. At least even if I did get it today I wouldn't be able to pay for it. I don't get paid till Thursday. Thursday I get to submit Drexel and Touro (if I have it) and then start to pay down the CC and replenish the bank account with whatever is left over. Those are the last two expected secondaries.

I've gotta save some cash for Cancun though too >.< not much is going to be going toward the CC this month lol which is bad since there is too much on it for my liking to begin with 😡

Good to know. I just barely sent my secondary to Lebanon. It seems like they'll have their pick with only 100 seats available this year. It's nice to have some reassurance that we're still pretty early in the cycle. Logic implies that we are, but sometimes we let our emotions get the best of us. Here's to 9 more months of fun during this process! haha

So, I got a secondary from Touro-NY. The letter states that once I submitted the supplemental application and all the necessary documents, then they will schedule an interview. I'm actually familiar with Touro-NY policy with secondary=interview but I was wondering if they interview everybody they give secondaries too then the probability of acceptance with interview is quite low. Is this correct? Or they actually screen harder than other schools and interview about the same number of people. The reason why I'm asking is because the secondary is expensive-$200 and the required deposit of $2000 two weeks after acceptance bothers me a little.

Rudeness! Hahaha. Yeah, I noticed the $100 price tag on this one... I tried calling to tell them it was broken, but no one picked up. I will keep calling all day, and I will likely wait a few days before I retry the thing because if I sit here and fill that thing out again and it doesn't work I will scream! Even without an essay, it wants you to put in all your schools, degrees, work history and volunteering experiences. That takes a long time for me since I have so much stuff!

Don't worry about the CC... I bet you will be getting an acceptance before October and then all you have to do is work to pay off that balance the rest of the year before you start med school.

According to NSU, my application is pending and they said to wait and watch my e-mail for invites which will begin being handed out NEXT WEEK! (Finally confirmation and not "don't know yet" 😱)

PCOM has begun and likely finished scanning all applications that have been sent, they said that all of my stuff has been received so thats good. They said they are going to begin reviewing applications shortly and that interview invites will begin being handed out the first week of September. Hang in there everyone, more invites are on the way.

They have sent me e-mails acknowledging receipt of my secondary, letters, and signature page. I have called maybe 8 times since those "checking to see if i'm complete" but more just trying to see when they are going to start reviewing and handing out invites. I really want to interview there if for nothing else than to visit Ft. Lauderdale Plus it seems like a great school.

They have also started updating webstar so if you go onto the portal and look at your applications, some of us already have an application status box. Mine says decision pending. Those are the people who have begun review starting Monday. I'd assume they are going to be in full swing of review mode starting shortly.

Uh oh... That's not good. I just chatted with them and they verified my letters without my prompting, so letter swapping could be an issue that they are having with more than one file. Mine were fine and the electronic submit was good enough. They said you only need to submit the signature page if you forgot the date or some other required information in the application that certified it.

That sucks, but it only takes one acceptance!!! Applying to med school reminds me of "Deal or No Deal"... Sure, you open the case/email that says you lost the $100,000 (or the interview), but the million is still out there. Right? 🙂

I wish some of my schools would stop leaving me hanging and just tell me if they want me or not! All of this waiting is much harder than getting a few rejections and knowing where I stand.
