Talked with Gaye today.

No waitlist movement this year, she's about 100% sure she won't have to use it (and even she was surprised...I got this sense this gives her less control to select diversity in the class). It's pretty much set in stone, but she told me not to withdraw just in case something strange happens.

Sounded like they were slightly over-enrolled, and apparently there are both Penn and Hopkins post-bacs who are waiting to fill any open seats through their formal linkage programs (they get first dibs).

So, yeah, I've pretty much thrown in the towel on this one.

I think they were both preview invites/high priority people. I think she was referring to the normal waitlist.

Wow. I really hope so. That person has no right filling the position of a deserving pre med regardless of race. Its pathetic that people like this can get in because they can write "convincing" personal statements.

I highly doubt that those are his real stats. Also, it's not really our job to judge someone else's app. I leave that up to admissions.

I heard from someone who got in last week. Gaye seems to be cautious this cycle... It isn't an acceptance offer but rather a "let's talk about where you stand". I think she's reticent to offer spots to people who won't take them and...I also think there are very fee spots available. Not sure if this person was high waitlist or just regular tier 1. It's moving a tiny bit but i'm pretty convinced it won't move like it has in the past

she probably meant that there would be 0 movement off the regular tier wait list. While it's nice to keep hope, I'm pretty sure this one is gone.

Just got the same thing myself. I'd already given up so I wasn't crushed but it's at least nice to have some closure.

Yup. For def. Hurts slightly more as a local and current employee. It's like my hometown and institution are shunning me. 🙁
