@cocoasmackers19

This was the most official document I could find, it says:

For Class of 2013 the USMLE Step 1 exam passing rate was 77%.
For Class of 2012 of the USMLE Step 2 CK exam, the pass rate was 94%.

Oo, that does seem to be the most dependable source we're going to find. Thank you for posting! Great to see that it's the majority for both.

It's supposed to be the first time passing rate. The document is from the portal/website the school uses to communicate with the students ---->http://ecourses.sanjuanbautista.edu/, though I found it through google. I think it's fair to assume the %s are higher now. That was in 2011 when the whole accreditation thing happened and they have really improved the school since then.

OOS, I got an email from Jaymi. Good luck to everyone who is waiting for an answer, I know the wait is horrible.

Any OOS applicants who interviewed at SJB... Which hotel did you stay at and how did you get to the school?

Accepted! Found out through email. Jaymi said they won't hear about the LCME review until June...Kind of concerning.

Thank you! I stayed at the only hotel in Caguas...can't remember the name of it though! Was very helpful that I had a rental car too.

Thanks... Maybe it's the Sheraton... How far is the hotel from SJBSM?

I'd say between 5 and 10 miles? The school was off the next exit going north towards San Juan (coming from the hotel). Really quick drive. When do you interview?

For you OOS-ers still going down for interviews -

If you applied to UCC and/or Ponce as well and haven't heard anything from them - it's worth it to give them a call and ask if they could maybe set something up while you're down. I had a SJB interview only, and I called UCC and Ponce when I touched down in San Juan and both were able to squeeze me in for interviews. Ironically, I got into both UCC and Ponce, but SJB never told me one way or the other. haha

Good luck!

Not too far, like 5-8 minutes in car.

Hey gang,
I just got an interview for early March (OOS) and I am super excited about it!

I was curious if anyone could detail how their typical interview day went? (IE 2pm - Arrival, etc... )

And to those of you already accepted, did you get offers/interviews from any other schools? I'm assuming that because I am interviewing late, I'll probably get last picking for OOS acceptances... if, well, I get one. :(

Which school will you attend?

I'm an MS1 at PSM.
So you never know whether you were accepted or not to SJBSM until now? By the way, change your status to 'medical student' instead of 'premedical'.

They never told me whether I was accepted or not. They had issues with my bio credits, I sent everything they requested (e-mails from department heads, registrars, acceptances from other schools) and then they never got back. haha

I just want the OOS-ers to be aware that it's worthwhile to contact the other schools you applied to if one invites you for an interview and the others have had no contact.

Yea this week it would be tuesday since yesterday it was closed

Hey applied last week of August, was verified in September and was the first group to interview on November 6. I say be patient, the waiting sucks but once you get that letter/email, it is all game over. I still can't believe that after 4 yrs, I am finally going to be a doctor. Keep strong guys

I am definitely nervous about tomorrow!
Me too, even though I interviewed late January, so I doubt I'll get an answer anytime soon. Jaymi told me I might get an answer in March if not April, just hope for the best. I'm so stressed about getting accepted here it's not even funny.

I interviewed november 6 and the wait has been absolutely horrible. I really want tomorrow to bring me good news. She told me february so I hope tomorrow is the day!

I just want to hear something back good or bad. If what Jaime said is true then we should hear back tomorrow since its the last monday of the February? I just want some closure lol
