Is there any reason to bring copies of our CV to interviews?
That's an interesting point. I was offered 11 last year, but only made it to 9. One I got sick the morning of the interview (my last one, and at a site that I started having bad feelings about) and I blew it off. The other non-completed interview was with a site who said they offered phone interviews on their APPIC directory page, but then told me they wouldn't do one without giving me any reason. I already felt slightly sketched about the site anyway, and it was a "safety" site so I just blew that off, too. But, that would move me from one bracket to another of "completed" interviews. I'm sure it hardly matters, but you would think the most accurate stats would come from interviews attended.RE: Match rate by number of interviews received: I wish they'd publish the match rate for interviews completed as well, not just interviews offered. I imagine those numbers are highly correlated, but I am sort of curious, for the people who get tons of interviews, whether they really then need to go do all of those interviews, or if they're just more competitive generally and could get by going to fewer. I knew someone who got over 10 (I can't remember exactly) interview offers last year, and it seems like knowing how many interviews you have to actually *do* to get matched would be more helpful. But, just my 2 cents!
6 rejections, 1 interview, 8 left to hear from for me....

What's the possibility of actually matching to VA site without pubs?
Got a few interviews, but not feeling good after a slew of rejections. :\
That was definitely my experience last year. Best to just roll with it, and be grateful for what you are offered. There are probably at least one or a couple sites where you'll be offered an interview that you are stoked out of your mind about, and those are great 🙂
I'm still waiting on this one as well. My expectations are pretty low at this point.
For what it's worth, I also applied to UNC SOM - CIDD and Clinical Child-Community and haven't heard anything.
I am in the same boat and really hoping Clinical Child-Community just hasn't sent out their invites yet!
It looks like they had multiple dates for offers last year. It's not over until it's over! I know a few people have said this, but I'll be another to add an anecdote. There have been multiple instances this year in my cohort of a site showing up on this forum on one day and being invited to interview on a later day. Until you get the rejection, it's still on the table.+1 here. Would love some good news from this site!!
Totally possible. It completely depends on the site and the strength of the rest of your application packet. Matching is all about fit, so if your research output is low, you wouldn't be a good fit at a big research powerhouse. However, there are plenty of VAs that have very little research going on, so someone whose CV is research-heavy wouldn't be a good fit. I matched to a VA with 0 pubs. I think 4/6 interns in my cohort had 0 pubs, but we were good fit for the site because the staff didn't do much in the way of research beyond program evaluation. So stay positive! Any place that invited you to interview thinks you're a good fit. If you weren't, they'd have given the interview slot to someone else 🙂What's the possibility of actually matching to VA site without pubs?
A healthy combo of dissertating, report writing, stress baking, and Netflix binging (read: I've been watching Netflix until I feel guilty, at which point I take work breaks to feel better. Until I get hungry, at which point I stress bake and watch more Netflix, because you can't eat baked goods and dissertate at the same time).I've got 6 rejections, and 1 interview and waiting to hear from 13 more. While I still have a majority to hear from, the rejections are rolling in strong! UGH. What is everyone doing to survive recently???
exact same for me…..I am in the same boat and really hoping Clinical Child-Community just hasn't sent out their invites yet!
A fellow stress baker? Definitely Netflix - I just discovered Homeland and it's perfect binge-watching material. I also purposely saved interview outfit shopping for November/December to give myself something to do... it's easy to burn anxious energy by trying on literally every blazer in the mall!
Has anyone who applied to UCSD/VA in the eating disorders positions heard anything?
Many people have noted that cohort mates or that they themselves have been invited to an interview days or weeks after the site was posted on here... is anyone willing to note which sites these were if they were not reported and recorded on the main thread?!
Additionally, Re: Phoenix VA, has anyone heard from the PTSD track?
I have no idea what to think about UCSD/VA. I did not apply to eating disorders, but applied to another track (another one that has not posted yet). I feel there is no way to tell if all the tracks went out at around the same time, or if there are some still coming. I guess we will wait and see.
Though that really doesn't answer your original questionThe email said interviewees will be notified what tracks we are interviewing for on dec 7 I think

Sorry if this is out of place! Wasn't sure if it was worth starting a whole new thread. What is the general consensus about attire for interviews? Particularly shoes. Are ladies expected to wear heels, or are flats acceptable? Moreover, if flats ARE acceptable, does anyone have a particular brand they are fond of that won't be miserable to wear/walk around in all day? Thanks! 🙂 Stay strong yall!

I have a friend who has an interview at kings county so I believe they sent invites out.Has anyone heard from the adult track at Kings County Hospital Center? In previous years, they let folks know pretty early in November. Thanks!
Did you friend get an invite for the adult or child track?I have a friend who has an interview at kings county so I believe they sent invites out.
Yupp, this is not a fun experience. A friend of mine last year got 8 rejections first, then 8 acceptances, stay strong.
