IS complete late August, status changed to "Secondary Under Review" a week ago, and then "Remain Under Consideration for Interview" today. I guess at least it's not a rejection?

Has anyone else had the status "secondary in process" for several weeks? I am OOS with strong ties to Alabama and submitted early August and my status hasn't changed yet.

it looks like they are processing IS applications first; they probably haven't even really looked over our applications.....

Got same thing.

II on Friday! OOS but strong ties to Alabama. My status was "in process" for 2.5 weeks (even though all materials were in), switched to "under review" on Thursday, and the II came Friday.

Do you mind sharing your stats?

Does it take a long time for the status of the application to change? I submit my secondary over a month ago with letters and my status is still secondary submitted and in process.

It seems to be different for different people. Mine changed pretty fast after submission early August.

Anyone in-state got II yet?

Hey! I'm in-state and got an II on 9-09. Secondary was submitted 8-17 and confirmed 8-22.

In-state applicant. Been stuck on "Reviewed - Still Considered for Interview" for about a month and a half now. Anyone else like this? Congrats to everyone with II so far.

Same here. Not sure what to do!?

OMG! II here today, state of Georgia. Can't believe I got that!

Congrats!! This is good to hear as a Georgia resident! When did you come off the secondary in process? What are your stats and do you have any connection to AL?

Good Luck on your interview!!

Thank you, I don't have any ties to Ala but I said I'm in the neighbor state and used to have trip to Ala every year and very interest in Ala. Lizzy is quite low ~ 68.4.

Yep! After checking the 2016 application thread, it seems that they send those out to tons of applicants every year.

Yup. Small panic attack sitting in Physics today when I thought it was going to be an II instead of asking me to apply to another program 🙁

not sure how they found me, my stats arent stellar or anything
not sure if i should apply here now lol

I've heard early decision letters have been sent out!

How long have y'all noticed it took for the status to go from "submitted and in process" to "secondary under review". I submitted roughly 5 weeks ago with all documents showing that they have been received, but my status has yet to change. FWIW, I'm OOS with LM ~70

I submitted mine end of August and my status just changed to "secondary under review" today!! Hopefully I'll hear good news soon!

^^^^^
I was complete 8/27 and just saw my status changed to "Secondary under review" today as well.

For those of you OOS, did you put "Not applicable" for the question about ties to the state if you have no ties?

I have ties so I did not, but you could think of it as an opportunity to explain why you are interested in the school if nothing besides the school is drawing you there. Just a thought though. "Not applicable" works too.

Had my interview today, does anyone have an idea of when the first round of decisions goes out? I know early decision have already gotten some, other than that it seems like it could happen any time between now and February? I'm renting near by and am considering buying a house but until I know something about school I'm kinda stuck.

Sorry, I do not know. Could you share the interview process and the interview itself ? Thank you

The interview day was really relaxed. Everyone started off together for orientation, but then we were split into two groups. One group had the traditional interview first, and the other had MMIs first.

The traditional interview is what you would normally expect. The interviewers were all friendly, and it was a stress free environment.

The MMIs were also very fun. In total, there were 7-10 stations (they vary depending on the day). The interviewers were trained well, and they pushed you as much as they needed to. Just find some practice online and you should be fine!

Let me know if you have any other questions.

I'm going to interview next week, very nervous about MMIs. Is the MMIs time-limited? Do you have to leave the room when time is out?

Thank you very much. Can you advise where to find the MMI 's practice sessions on-line ? Again, thank you

RE-APPLICANTS: apparently the admissions office won't process our applications until after the first of the year...the reasoning is "to give those applicants an opportunity to provide updates to the committee with how they have improved their application from the previous time." My secondary had been "in process" for over a month so I got a little curious and emailed the admissions office.

Just a word of advice from a UASOM MS1 that went through 2 very long cycles with UAB -

UAB will take their time for every step of the process. I drove myself crazy trying to interpret silence from UAB as "signals." Save yourself that torture and stay busy when you're waiting on a response.

Any re-applicants with a change in application status, I've been completed since Aug. 23rd but haven't seen a change in status?? Just wondering if that won't change until they start looking at us in January.

SORRY just read the message ABOVE answering this question.

Question for anyone who has already interviewed. Is there a place to leave your bags in the interview place? I have to leave right after so I was wondering what to do with my bags.

Just interviewed today. For 1 to 1 interview, you don't have to leave your bag, just carry it with you. It's just a 30 mins interview. For MMIs, there is a bench for you to leave your bag in front of the series of rooms for MMI.

Submitted my secondary 9/13. Complete and under review 9/19. Got an email today saying my pre-health advisor submitted a letters of rec packet that is someone else's, and that they could not further review my app at this time, and to please notify them when my advisor submits MY letters of rec packet. Has this happened to anyone else?
