This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I was told I'm on the middle third of the IS list this morning. Anyone know if we should be expecting more waitlist movement this cycle because of the new traffic rules?

Waitlisted - middle third. Kinda bummed about that but according to previous years they’ve given offers to the middle third. Don’t want to wait but also don’t want to reapply :/ Does anyone know the chances of getting off the waitlist for the middle third? Also IS if that matters

Just FYI, the middle third has been cleared for the past few years so it's a pretty good chance. With that being said I also want to say that the school interviewed more applicants this year than previous years so take that under consideration too.

Thanks! That gives me some hope lol.

I thought they interviewed about 400 people a year, right? So it was more than that? I was also under the impression they had to add more interview dates or add more people to interview groups because of the hurricane. I was one of those people that had to reschedule my interview date because of it.

It was a little more this cycle. They added in sessions in addition to the ones that needed to be rescheduled from the hurricanes last fall.

Top third in state as well although just to be clear, it did not specify that I was on the “IS” list vs OOT. So perhaps it’s just a single waitlist?

I’ve never specifically been told if I was on the “IS waitlist” but according to past forums, people have said there is an IS list and an OOS list. If anybody could confirm that’d be great!

Just wanted to send anyone who cares an update: interviewed 3-20-19, received rejection letter in the mail today.

This is my second time being waitlisted and I don’t think I’ve ever been told I was on the IS waitlist. But I am in-state lol.

So you asked what third you’re in and they told you? My email just said “you are currently in the middle third of the waitlist.”

So if I fill out the form they mailed stating “I accept my position” at the school, is that binding? Or does that still allow me to consider other options?

Any updates on the fb page ? Can we just go ahead and make one? I wanna get to know who I might be going to school with!

You're welcome to make one but it won't be the official one advised by current USCSOM students. Plus, half the people who are currently accepted will likely not be in your class, just based off of past waitlist movement... the M2s are running late selecting leadership this year which is why there is this delay. It shouldn't be too much longer now though because they need to hand down positions by the end of the month

chances of movement from bottom tier OOS?
According to previous years it’s possible, but unlikely. I’m in the middle third and I’ve resorted to I’m not getting in. I hope it’s good news for us both though! Apparently this year around half of the class has multiple offers and no one has dropped yet. Which is different than how it has worked in previous years.

That’s the conclusion I came to. They may have spots to fill already, but because of the 4/15 deadline they would have to wait for the definitive waitlist before they start giving out acceptances.

Anyone know what area most of the med students live in? Having trouble finding anything nearby for rent.

A large portion live in the apartment complexes near campus. Huntington Place, Wellington Farms, and Creekside at Greenlawn

What is the name of the Facebook group for the Class of 2023 (so exciting!!! 😊)? I can't seem to find it.

Any OOS waitlist movement yet? I am top 1/3 and haven't heard anything
