Did you interview 10/22? Those of us that did, hopefully we hear back today. I wrote down that if don't hear anything by the six week mark (today) that we should email admissions.
Are you emailing admissions? I interviewed on 10/22 and have not heard back yet.

Maybe they're just behind then? We were told to let them know at the six week mark if we hadn't heard anything I'll probably wait until Wednesday to reach out to them if I still haven't heard anything.

Good morning Loyola Admissions team,

My name is _______, and I had the pleasure of interviewing on October 22nd. I remember hearing from [member of admissions] during the last meeting of interview day that if we had not received a status update by six weeks after our interview date that we should contact you in case the application became stuck in committee. I was wondering if there has been an update to my status?

Sincerely,

__________

Hey y'all! Just checking in here :) I promise you are all gong to get voted on and hear soon. This is that fun time of the year when thanksgiving and Christmas are super close together and there a back log of applicants who may have to wait a little longer than expected to hear!! I interviewed on 10/24 last year and got the phone call on January 14th!! We didn't forget about you-- 4-6 weeks is not always a hard and fast rule and the good news will be coming shortly.

Feel free to reach out to admissions-- but I promise its not going to do anything Latrice and Whitney will look and see that everything and order and let you know you will be discussed in a future meeting! But if it makes you feel better go ahead and send it.

For context: I emailed and called maybe 3-4 times between October and January 14th SO .... maybe I shouldn't be talking.

II just now. 3.77 GPA, 521 MCAT, went to a Jesuit undergrad (not sure how much that matters to Loyola).

I joined in October with no issues, but I have noticed that the number of people in the group hasn't changed since then which is kind of weird!

I'm in an eastern time zone and my interview time was based on central time, so I had to adjust my interview time by one hour to compensate for the difference. So most likely you will have to do the math.

Has anyone gotten off CC yet? I think early December was when people started getting accepted off the CC list last year.

is change in permanent address something that is update worthy for loyola? GW asked me to update them if my permanent address changes, but I wasn't sure if other update-welcoming schools wanted updates like this

Every school prefers to have a current address, phone number and email address on file for an applicant. If any of those contacts have changed, make the school aware via a quick phone call or email (but not via update letter).

I was told by other people that changing my permanent address on my AMCAS application would be sufficient, but I guess contacting schools will be more safe. Thanks for your reply!

If you updated with AMCAS, you should be good! I don’t believe your original message mentioned that you updated with AMCAS which is why I suggested contacting the school directly. But if you want to double check that it’s been updated with each school, that never hurts too. Do whatever is going to make you feel best!

Ended up withdrawing my interview, my heart's set on another school that I've been accepted to and I didn't want to hold up an interview spot. I hope it goes to one of you!

Well interview season started mid august. And I would bet there aren't too many dates left in December. So there have been 5 months of interviews with 2 months remaining (last interview is usually 2nd or 3rd week of feb last year they added a date so it was like 2/24 or something). I would imagine they have extended some offers to fill the dates in January at this point but I would there there are still some January slots back and probably a lot of Feb left. So I would guess somewhere around 80 percent of II have been sent out at this point. But, I know 3 people that are my classmates that interviewed on the last day!! Theres always hope until that last interview day, someone is bound to drop and that last II will probably go out just a day or two before. That person could be you!

Hi! I'm a member of the M1 class board at SSOM and wanted to let you know that we accept people to the 2025 Accepted Facebook Group after cross-checking with a list of accepted students provided to us by the administration. Sorry for the delay, we have not forgotten about the group or your request, but are still waiting on getting the most updated list. Once we have that, we will make sure to accept you all ASAP!

Link to group for those who may not have already seen it:

I know from personal experience how anxiety-driving the application process can be so just a reminder to try enjoy this crazy year before medical school as best as you can and good luck to everyone reading this. If any of y'all have any questions about SSOM I can try and give an answer :)

Does anyone know if Loyola does silent Rs and sends decisions to everyone at the end or do they send pre-II Rs throughout the cycle?
They will reject everyone that has not interviewed in one big wave usually 1 seek after the last interview date (February late).

I thought loyola was one of the schools that utilized holds a lot, but it seems like they aren't doing that this year??

I haven’t heard anything (complete late September) but I have a friend that received a pre-II R a month ago

I tried emailing Loyola today and I quickly got a failed mail delivery notification saying that my access was denied. Anyone else have this issue?

I think Loyola is closed for the holidays for the next two weeks unless anyone can chime in from last year. Probably shouldn't expect to hear anything until 2021

:( I’m itching to know when they’ll start accepting people off CC. They must be behind schedule because last year it was early December when people started getting pulled from CC

Campus employees are still working until Wednesday of this week but I’m not sure if that extents to the admissions committee and faculty.

Is there a certain # of hours of community service this school expects from us? I'm interested in applying next cycle, and just curious. I've worked with the underserved for about a year. As in, what kind of volunteer work do they want to fit in with their mission?

From what I've seen said they place a huge emphasis on working with underserved communities.

It’s not the number of hours, it’s how you reflect on them. It’s what you learned. It’s what you take from the experiences that have inspired you to be a physician that cares for the underserved and marginalized.

Congrats to everyone who has been accepted so far. And to those on cc, do not lose hope. 2/5 of my friends were pulled off of cc who are in my class now. If you really want to attend Loyola, I highly suggest sending in update letters and keeping the admissions committee updated with your interest and what you have been up to.
To those still waiting, there is still time left in the cycle. I personally heard from Loyola at the end of December (a couple of years ago) after sending in an update letter and interviewed at the end of January. In fact, I received most of my interviews from medical schools from January-March (and this was during a year without COVID).
Good luck everyone, and as always, do not hesitate to ask any questions. I know this is a challenging year, and I am thinking about all of you.

Thanks so much for this post! I already sent in one update, but would you recommend sending a letter of interest if I haven't gotten an interview?

When did you send in your update? If it has been a month-couples of months since, I would send in another update. You can definitely include details in there specific to Loyola to show your interest. I think very intentional and well-thought out letters go such a long way and are highly impressive. For example, you can include things specific to Loyola that make you want to attend and tie that into your application and who you are. i.e. let's say you have experience in research with neurology and you have been working on a specific neuro project. Look up names of physicians that you could shadow in neuro and/or areas of research that you would be interested in pursuing with them being your mentor. Or look up student organizations that align with components of your application and highlight why you could see yourself being a leader of that student org, etc. I think these are the types of updates that are the most impressive!

I sent in a pre-ii update/letter of interest - I'm hoping it will make a difference. I've been on and off of hold since August. I was complete in July!
