I have the same stats. Do you think I should apply to kcucom early May or do I wait till my mcat score comes out in mid July (hopefully it’ll be a 508)
With KCU the earlier you apply the better. I applied in May and was accepted in August my cycle. They tend to fill up their class early and then have waitlist movement later in the cycle.

I'd apply in May and then update them with an email with the higher MCAT score if you get the 508 you're hoping for. Could also mention somewhere in the initial application that you retook the MCAT and waiting for the result

hey I'm an accepted student but just wanna say that I was waitlisted at first and it took them 7 weeks to give me the A! I was going to write a letter of interest but I ended up getting the A before that. Unless you've been instructed to not send one, I think this week is a great time to send a letter of interest/intent. Waitlist mvmt for DO schools seems to kick in a lot around mid-May which we're not quite there but approaching. Best of luck!

Congratulations! Which campus? KC or Joplin?

Yeah feels like there has been 0 across so many schools
From what I’ve gathered, waitlist movement starts around mid-May because a lot of schools want people to commit / submit deposits by May 15th. People are still on waitlists and they’ll inevitably move as MD schools also start moving around. Fingers crossed for u guys

For your waitlist decision, did they specify which campus for? I thought it was general and upon admission they’d let you know KC or Joplin
I think it’s for whichever campus you specified on secondary. If you have no preference then they’ll tell you which campus.

Just graduated from KCU, so I figured I would give my final 2 cents on a few topics. First, if you are accepted to the KCU Kansas City campus and you are thinking about living at Century Towers because it is right across the street from campus, consider that "active shooter" situations around that area are not uncommon, and I personally felt much safer driving in and parking on campus. KCU does a great job with security on campus, but the surrounding area is not safe.
Second, I had many disagreements with the staff at KCU, but the professors will do a great job preparing you for rotations, audition rotations, and boards. With that being said, medical schools are here to make money. KCU increased our 4th year tuition when we schedule the entire year on our own. $60,000 to complete a year completely on your own is a slap in the face. And finally, just when I thought the money grab was over, KCU charges us $60 for a SINGLE JPEG from our graduation. Pathetic but unexpected.
Medical school will suck (first and second year specifically), but you will all get through it if you are truly passionate about medicine. Best of luck.
