I live in north KC, and I really like it. We live in a quiet suburb and it’s really safe and nice. It’s a 10 minute drive from campus and my only complaint is sometimes traffic getting over the bridge in the morning is sometimes slow. But by slow I mean it maybe adds 5-10 minutes to my drive if I get out the door late. Not bad in my opinion.Hi so I’ve been looking into places to live and it seems that most students live in either the River Market area or North Kansas City area.
Could a current student walk me through the pros and cons of living in either area?
Wl, still waitingHow was the interview experience here?
Would you recommend living with a roommate or by yourself?I live in north KC, and I really like it. We live in a quiet suburb and it’s really safe and nice. I will say I was worried moving here because I read that KC was full of crime and really bad and sketchy and your car will get broken into and all of those things. I have been pleasantly surprised. Yeah school is in not a great part of town but campus security is awesome and I have never once felt unsafe on campus. And because of where I live, I really feel very safe here. Haven’t had a problem at all.
Honestly whatever you prefer for your budget. I live with my spouse.Would you recommend living with a roommate or by yourself?
What campus?withdrew A, hope this seat goes to one of you in the wait
I was told WL movement usually doesn’t start til end of mayAny WL movement?

Color doesn’t matter. I would get two pairs to start. You may want three or four total. For current students, any reccs on how many scrubs to buy? Also, does color matter?
With how the preclinical curriculum is set-up, do you feel like studying for block exams is like the conventional anki + practice questions + lectures or is there a different strategy for KCU?- Dedicated is roughly 2.5 months (May through mid-June).
- There's no exact percentage I can give but typically 90% of students get one of their top 3 choices of sites and there are 3 KC sites so the chances are high. The majority of spots are in KC so the majority of students end up there.
- We get a lot of guidance from the clinical clerkship and residency placement team for 4th year, but you have to schedule all your rotations yourself, they don't help with that.
- Summer between 1st and 2nd year is 2 months
- The school provides Boards & Beyond and Truelearn + Uworld for board prep
- The culture is generally collaborative, we hope to keep it that way but every class is different
- I am very happy with my decision to attend KCU and would highly recommend it. The curriculum is rigorous but does prepare you for boards pretty well
yeah, that is the typical method for many studentsWith how the preclinical curriculum is set-up, do you feel like studying for block exams is like the conventional anki + practice questions + lectures or is there a different strategy for KCU?
Thanks!
When would you recommend to start incorporating third party materials into studying?yeah, that is the typical method for many students

pretty much right away. med school bootcamp is great for anatomy. I highly suggest signing up for the PASS mentor program, your mentor will be able to provide guidance on which resources are useful. When would you recommend to start incorporating third party materials into studying?
1. Unsure tbh but I think it’s like 60% ish acceptances(?) but I wouldn’t quote me on that.Hello!
Canadian applicant here with a few questions:
1) whats the ratio of interviews to acceptances/waitlists historically?
Are the interviews just essentially screening for red flags, or do they actually use it to cut a lot of people out?
2) whats the interview format? Traditional? MMI? Open or closed book?
3) how are some people getting accepted while others get waitlisted? I thiught waitlists go out when all spots have been filled? Or is it where if they like you but not entirely sold, you get waitlist, and if theyre sold on you you get an acceptance.
Thanks for your input!
