2024-2025 LSU - New Orleans Secondary Essay Prompts

If you wish, you may attach an essay of reasonable length (500-600 words) using the prompt "your values". THIS IS AN OPTIONAL ESSAY.

Good luck to all applying!

IS Secondary Received Today 7/1/24. Hard to navigate the specifics but there is only one essay this year(listed as #14 on the secondary application webpage) and it is optional:

do we have to upload the selective service form for the secondary? On the website it says its required, but on the document upload area it says optional.

Does anybody know if you receive a confirmation email after uploading your documents and submitting the secondary payment? I uploaded the documents and submitted my payment but have not received confirmation.

I got a confirmation saying they received my electronic secondary. Also a real email confirmation for reception of my DL as well.

got the same thing. However in the confirmation for my secondary, it said they will send an email when my file is complete. So looks like they are still hand checking that each document is in.

When did you submit and how long did it take for you to get an email saying they received your secondary?

Sorry for the additional question, "submitting" the secondary means you just uploaded the documents and payed using the portal correct? I did not see a button to "submit"

Correct. And 1 business day.

Has anyone received a "File Complete" email yet? I received an email receipt for my payment on 7/1 and an email on 7/2 saying that my secondary app was received but I still haven't gotten a "File Complete" email.

In the exact same situation.

Honestly shocked I got an OOS secondary (turned in 6/28; received 7/10). I interned in Louisiana for 3 months and this time period is a large reason why I wanted to pursue medicine, but everyone said I had no chance.

I saw that that they require 3 science LORs?? How bad is it if I only have 2 and have other letters?? Is it worth sending in my 50 dollars?

Has anyone received an email saying "File complete" or "Under Review" yet?

Just got "This is to acknowledge that your application to LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans is now complete and under active consideration" this week

I got the file complete email but not under active consideration yet. Are you ED or IS?

Has anyone else still not received a "File Completion" email? I submitted everything on 7/2 and still have heard nothing.

Any OOS not gotten their secondaries yet? I have strong ties (went to LSU) but I am worried

Any regular decision heard anything? Been under active consideration since first week of August.

anyone interview here this cycle yet, or is next week their first interview days?

i think next week is the first interview week for RD applicants since they were just reviewing early decision stuff prior to this week

The interview times are all in Louisiana time right?

Is the interview open file traditional? Or is it some other format? I just want to know if they’ve read our file

there's three separate one on one interviews! it's a mix - some of them have your application, some of them don't, and they're all supposed to be asking about different things about you (ethics, who you are, what you like to do, etc)

Would you say it’s a low stress interview? Also anything you think is a must to do before the interview to prepare?
