2024-2025 Rutgers (New Jersey)

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
It looks like nobody got accepted RD yet. Examining last year’s thread, it looks like they tend to send RD acceptances on Wednesdays, so we might see some A’s tomorrow.

nothing today interview last month, friend told me they're probs w ED orientation rn!

@ rutgers Seniors: Dean Heinrich tells a lot of current applicants about their acceptance during his visit for the AMSA NJMS info session. Does anyone have an idea how long before the event he requests that seniors (that he's going to accept) show up for this event?

Hoping today is the day for everyone here!
Me too! Just confused that nobody got a call yesterday since he said in my deans session that they make as many calls as possible on the 15th even if it’s a Sunday. Hopefully it’s just that ED ran a bit late. Praying we all get some luck today 🙏

I'm confused too but I feel like someone on SDN would have to have said something ab getting a call. idk whats going on

Hey guys, ED acceptee here,
From all my ED peers it seems that most got their calls on Saturday/Sunday night. I got mine at 9pm on a Sunday so just beware. Try not to worry too much rn. They have accepted 80 students ED so I think they are done with ED now. We had an Accepted Students day on Monday. Good luck to all!

how big are incoming class sizes if ED is ~80 students? Ive seen numbers like 150-180 but unsure how accurate those are. Any chance you have an idea?

NJMS is known for taking large chunk of ED apps i believe. That range is accurate from what I heard in interview setting (~250 As)

MSAR says 174 matriculated last year. This includes ED, BA/MD, and MD/Phd so there’s very few seats for RD to compete for 😢

If the ED class was as big as was previously said, it would be at least 50% harder for RD apps to be accepted, so it's a real possibility only the Harvard UG 4.0's are getting accepted in the RD pool
ED and BS/MD had accepted students day on Monday, if I had to guess there was prob 60-70 people there, maybe a couple more. Not sure if that's helpful to y'all but there's plenty of spots left don't give up hope!! You got this 🙂

I didn't know it was ED and Bs/MD that does make me feel a bit more relieved. thought it was only ED

I don’t think it’s as bad as only Harvard 4.0s lmao, but I do think that the interview -> admit rate for RD is less than the 45% overall interview -> admit rate. Maybe around 30-35%?

Unless someone has seen that the 45% figure is for RD specifically and doesn’t include ED.

Fingers crossed! Reapplicant and this has been my only interview this cycle, so just hoping real hard. Interviewed on 8/27.

Edit: I tried doing the math using the 340 acceptances figure from earlier, MSAR data on BS/MD + ED, and the 45% overall interview => admit rate, using a kind of wild guess of 80% interview => admit rate for ED.

When you do all that, the RD admit rate is 38%, which isn’t that bad.

Really hinges on there being 340 total acceptances, though. Also I could have messed up the math.

On my interview confirmation email it said I would have to fill out an attestation on the web interview page of the portal but I couldn't find it anywhere. Did this happen to anyone else?

I did a bit of investigating and found something interesting.

Last year, they had that Accepted Students Event for BS/MD and ED acceptees on Monday, October 9, 2023
They started sending RD acceptances Sunday, October 15, 2023

This year, they had that same event on Monday, October 14, 2024

So if the time between the two events remains the same, there is a good chance we'll start hearing back about RD acceptances tomorrow or Monday

I was in unbelievable suspense this whole weekend just to get radio silence 😭 did anyone RD get an acceptance???

Cycletrack does not seem to capture a lot of the people who got accepted - last year the earliest acceptance reported on Cycletrack was November 1st (for a total of 5 acceptances tracked last year), though SDN indicates a lot of people got accepted before then. If what people say is true and 70-80 people got accepted ED, cycletrack only tracked 2 of them.

No one on SDN has reported an acceptance yet though, and no one on Admit.org either. Cycletrack for Rowan has 12 reported acceptances last week. The one reported acceptance at NJMS on October 16th might be representative of a larger number of people accepted that simply do not participate in these tracking websites, or it might be a late ED reported acceptance.

I guess all we can do is be brave for now, even if the suspense is hard.

I see you also made a whole account just for this lmao

If we are assuming a post-interview admit rate of ~35%, it seems unlikely that everyone hanging out here rn on SDN will ultimately be rejected, since there are, what, 10 of us? More? Idk if they’re just trickling the acceptances out or if they haven’t started sending them out yet, period, but there’s gonna be some for sure in the coming weeks, I think…

Yeah I cracked this morning and decided it's better to stress about this with other people than alone. I suspect personally the main wave of acceptances has not come out quite yet since the odds that 0 people (and I assume a good chunk of us are NJ residents who know other applicants too) got any accepts between Admit and here

A good chunk are Rutgers alumni too so it’s even weirder than there’s NO reports of getting calls

sorry if this was already said, but when should we get our decision post interview? just interviewed today and it wasn’t mentioned. my dean session isn’t scheduled until november

no one knows. Look back the last few days people are losing their minds. They say typically 6-8 weeks but it's been silence lately for everyone
