2024-2025 Rutgers (Robert Wood Johnson)

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Complete in early august and still haven't heard anything 🙁

Yeah submitted my secondary mid July and no news since - I’m hoping they‘ve got more IIs on the way.

They are most likely finishing up with early decision applicants, so regular decision applicants are coming up soon!

Anyone know if the acceptance would come as a call or an email? I haven't interviewed yet but just curious lol

I was told at virtual open house that 1/2 the As are sent out in late december (21 or 23) and the other half in late march.

Yeah the people who interview Sept-December will get a decision in December, and the ppl who interview Jan-March get a decision in March

Just to confirm-we aren't allowed to take notes during the interview but can we take notes during the 3 minutes before each station?

hey, is the evening group Q&A with the faculty leader mandatory?
I don't think it's mandatory. Personally, I'm not going but maybe it would be good to send an email just notifying the admissions office now that I'm thinking about it again

did anyone interview yet? I am curious on how it went with the different zoom calls and stations.

Got my II today, In-state. Very excited to be hearing from this school!! Any tips for MMI?

Does anyone know how long they keep sending out interview invites or if they are basically near the end? I am IS and complete late July but still have not heard back

For people worried about not receiving interview invites yet, don't be! The current RWJMS class has a significant portion of people who were admitted in March (interviewed mainly in the spring) and also a decent number who got off the waitlist.

Does that apply for both IS and OOS applicants?

Hey, current M1 here, happy to answer any questions.
1)If you could interview for RWJMS again, what would you have done differenly and what steps did you take to do well in the interview?
2)Do you believe studying bioethics can help you do better in the interview?

1. I would have done nothing differently. I think my interview process went pretty well tbh. Steps I took: I prepared various topics I could talk about for general questions but did not write a script to sound more natural in the process of the interview. Read an MMI Book, Read various sample expert answers to various practice MMI questions online, and practiced answering MMI questions to get the hang of it.
2. It might and it might not. The MMI is to see more of who you are as a person, if you are a good fit for the school, and if the school is a good fit for you. So, it is good to practice talking and answering questions quickly and effectively, but I doubt it will help too much. I did 0 bioethics prep btw.

Best advice for the MMI, in my opinion, is to relax and try to be your authentic self.

Thank you for the advice. I have done some of what you recommended in the past so I'll try to implement it again.

I resonate with your idea that be your authentic self. However , it's a hard shell to break especially when you think you might not make the cut. But I'll try my best to overcome it.

Anyone know if a letter of interest would help in getting an interview here?

I would only contact them if you have significant updates.
As per MSAR: "please note that we will not consider in the application review any letter of intent nor interest. We welcome limited notices of significant updates or achievements. A general guideline is that those should be limited to two per cycle."
Thank you for the information. Do you have a link for it?

has anyone been accepted yet? if so do you know if there is an accepted students page?

Is the interview interactive? Does the interviewer as follow-ups? I know it's MMI, but I can't tell if the 6 minutes to respond is un-interupted or not. If anyone has any any info it would be much appreciated!!!

they will only talk really if you are missing part of the prompt. otherwise it is just you talking. i finished the majority of stations early so then we just both muted ourselves and turned our cameras off. super relaxed

Anxiously waiting for SDN to update with people getting calls. I feel like I bombed the interview so I'm scared to see what comes of this :,(

on interview day i was told we would hear back “sometime around the 20th” so a few more days left, (unless the 20th is the date of official notification and phone calls roll earlier, would have to check previous year threads)
