For anyone who's already interviewed - is the Kira MMI live with actual interviewers, or asynchronous and recorded like Casper? I've never done one before!

does anyone know if TCU ever offers merit scholarships? thx.
Yes, while most of our scholarships require financial need, some also have merit components such as academic, leadership and/or community service. All scholarships are competitive and require completion of the FAFSA. Not every student is awarded a scholarship, and amounts will vary from student to student. As an entering first-year medical student, we use the information in your admissions application as your application for scholarships, and any scholarship for which you may be eligible will be automatically given. Because Burnett School of Medicine does not use traditional grades, scholarships beyond the first year are mostly need-based and will require good academic standing and successful progression in the M.D. curriculum.

Hey all, this is going to sound really stupid, but AMCAS wouldn't let me submit the primary for TCU around 11:50 PM CST even though on the website it says, "The deadline to submit is November 15, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. CST." It kept saying I couldn't add in the school anymore.

Before anyone comes after me for being severely late, I am aware how the fault lies in me for not submitting earlier, but this is a last ditch effort on my end to get in TCU since I'm trying to stay in state... and it's now pointless for me to finally have a completed primary AMCAS app unless I want to throw in OOS MD's...

I was wondering if anyone has had an issue like this or if I could even contact TCU SOM about it since AMCAS can't just open their app up again just because of that. I don't think it's believable either since I have no real proof of being finished before deadline. I suspect it might be because AMCAS app operates on EST since my PDF printouts read an hour ahead - if it's an issue where the time has passed and not where I should've turned it in on 11/14.

I think now I'm just upset how I finally have a completed AMCAS primary to turn in. :/ Was really hoping TCU could give me some slim hope with how their interview season goes a little later than TMDSAS schools.

(i will be throwing myself a pity party now, this cycle is teaching me the hard lesson of being early for deadlines but i'm rly just exhausted)

The only thing you lose is the money, you still have a chance, worst thing is they say no!
You're right, I think I'll email TCU SOM humbly - I just have 0 proof and it's just embarrassing :/ I guess if they say no, I'll know for sure rather than always thinking about how there was technical issue

You could have gotten away with turning in a Common App for college at 5 minutes to midnight, but this is an adult process that favors those who plan and prepare.
AMCAS says this:
To meet a school’s AMCAS deadline, your application must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. ET on the deadline date. Official transcripts for regular applicants must be received within 14 calendar days

Thanks wysdoc. I definitely missed that, so that's on me. Good luck, everyone else!

For those who have already interviewed, when did you receive your Kira setup info + link? I received an email confirmation the day I scheduled it, but no Kira information, so was just wondering if that's normal?

They send that a little bit later

Considering the high tuition (even with $10K in scholarship), what could be other considerations for someone in state in TX to join this school, when they have other in state acceptances? Thanks.

Location, liking their teaching style.
Some with an in-state acceptance might choose by cost as you suggest

My interview is Monday - anyone have any tips/words of wisdom for the MMI? 🙂 This is my first MMI and i’m so nervous!

+1 OOS A!!!! Received yesterday 12/20. Interviewed 12/09 - I'm so shocked and pleased with the insanely quick turnaround time!! Always really appreciate communicative schools like TCU

Hello! That is correct, we do not require a deposit to hold your spot. If you have any additional questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to [email protected] and we will be happy to answer any questions.

Haven't heard anything from them; does anybody know if they still have interview spots open/if they're considering applicants?

I think they are, otherwise we would have been in the previous wave(s).

Edit: this goes for all the threads you posted in too. You can also check cycle track.org to find out when previous rejection waves were sent.

Anyone who has been on continued consideration receive one since 12/20? They were sending them every two weeks before and I've come to miss that biweekly heart attack in my mailbox. Wondering if this might be a soft R, or they are just slowing down their review meetings?

The holiday break got us a bit off cadence. Admissions decisions will be sent out again next Friday (1/24) and then should continue every 2 weeks the remainder of the cycle. Thank you for your patience and as always, don't hesitate to reach out to [email protected] with any specific questions you may have.

Howdy, does anybody know if there's a webpage detailing the scholarships awarded by TCU (if that exists)? 🤠

All students qualify for a 15% grant each year of the program. Additionally, there are other scholarships and grants available to incoming and current students. Incoming students will automatically be considered for scholarships and awarded based on application and FAFSA information. Additionally, please reach out to [email protected] for more information on opportunities.

Based on last year’s thread people still interviewed in February!
