Hi everyone! I've lurked on here for a while, so I finally made an account!

I applied to AWSOM on 11/03, received my Secondary on 11/05, and Submitted that Secondary on 11/10 ( I know, I know - but it was a lot of essays and it was tough to get through them all)!

I have ties to the area, but I am an OOS applicant (From NY), I'm URM, my MCAT was a 513 (126/131/126/130), cGPA: 3.64, sGPA: 3.58, and my LM is 68.40. I wish everyone luck in this process!

Even with some likely glitches, bumps and growing pains ahead, AWSOM seems to appreciate its applicants and is definitely not all jaded and dismissive like many "established" med schools seem to be. Any idea when this school will notify re A's, R's and WL's ?

I know that the acceptances will begin to go out in January, and that their interview season is going to go quite late (the email I received from them said early through March). Not sure about rejections or waitlists!

are they usually quick to respond to emails? Its been almost a week and they haven't gotten back to me....
Hey there, 0pal - I hope they got back to you before break! I emailed about the admissions timeline on November 24th and received a reply the next day on November 25th. This is quite literally the only email I've sent to them, but not hearing back for over a week seems strange! Maybe they were just swamped with emails as more and more students realized they were open for applications.

Any Interview tips? Does anyone have an idea what percent get interviews?
According to the email I got from Admissions, their format is two traditional, semi-blind interviews! No MMI, completely online. When I went to the information session back in the beginning of December, the two Directors of Admissions said that they were going to interview "a few hundred people" in order to find their class of 48 students. As a rough estimate, 48/300 is 16%, but since this is their very first year I have no idea what the actual numbers will be! Good luck in your interview! I really hope to get an II too.

Semi blind? Probably won’t see our stats?

I don't have any more information than "semi-blind"! My Interview at UCSF was completely blind, so I don't have any experience with "semi" blind. Maybe they will know where you're from or something like that! Good luck, I hope it goes well for you!

They'll know ur activities and PS and secondary responses but not ur GPA or MCAT

If they see activities and awards section, they may have some insight into GPA of course, but anyone getting an interview has a GPA the school is cool with regardless.

Did anyone still not receive secondaries? Do they screen heavily before sending secondaries?

They have a minimum GPA requirement (3.40 for both Overall GPA and BCPM Undergrad GPA) and a minimum MCAT score (500) -- I think the only reason that they wouldn't send out a secondary at all would be if the applicant didn't hit these requirements. I was lucky and received my secondary invite about 2 or 3 days later -- I'm sorry that they haven't gotten back to you yet!

Other people who got a II, what was your LM? I got one and mine was 68. I am asking because I'm trying to gauge if AWSOM is looking for people with high stats or people who fit their values.

Just like Belmont last year, I would gauge that mission fit is far more important than having high stats.

Would anyone be kind enough to please DM me the Jan. 7th webinar link? I've tried signing up a couple of times but haven't gotten it yet...

I signed up and haven’t gotten it yet either. I’m thinking it might come the day of

Could someone please send me the link to register for their upcoming info session? I received the email for the one in December but wasn't able to make it

does anyone who interviewed remember when they said decisions were coming out? I remember someone saying sometime january but i forget

Anyone hear anything about R’s and WL’s? If they’re only having an inaugural class of 48 total, this could wrap up pretty fast… sure people might sit on the A’s as a bargaining chip elsewhere but still… it’s only 48.

does everyone think their wave of A’s for the first few interview dates is done? I interviewed Dec 13th and was really hopeful and excited for AWSOM and haven’t heard anything yet
