Hi! Which campus is not as competitive in terms of applying?
I have heard it depends on mission fit. St Luke's is more mission-oriented, and you have to have some decent hours or experience working in rural communities. The North Philly campus is much broader when looking for applicants.

hi! I'm still researching the two campuses but am currently leaning towards Philly. Does St. Luke's have a pediatrics hospital that Temple med students learn from like Philly's St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children? Also are students at the St. Luke's location still able to learn at the Measey Institute for Clinical Simulation? thanks!

nope, other than that as a USMD ur gonna match peds just fine no matter where you train. St. Chris is actively going broke, Penn pays to keep it a float to leverage volumes with CHOP. St. Lukes isn't even really temple, its just somehow affiliated. You will get good training at temple tho (no matter what you pick)

St. Luke's student here, the St. Luke's Children's Hospital is very good and you will get plenty of quality pediatric experience. We have our own sim center and standardized patients in-house. The doctoring course has the same requirements and features no matter which campus you attend, with one exception: if you attend the St. Luke's campus, you will have doctoring lectures via Zoom whereas you are required to attend them in-person at MERB if you're in Philly. Of course, the doctoring skills group sessions are required in-person attendance at either campus.

Is it normal if I submitted my primary two days ago to Temple but have not yet received a secondary?

Hi. I’m just wondering if I should contact LKSOM to follow up..? I submitted my Secondary but only received an email with receipt of payment. I have not received an acknowledgement that they’ve received my Secondary Application. Is that normal for Temple?

Check to make sure that you have submitted. It may take up to a month to get confirmation/email saying you're complete.

did your secondary tell you when something is out of the word limit or how many characters you had? Mine let me submit but I assume it was within 2000 then?

No, but after checking, it looks like they don’t review until everything including CASPER has been submitted. My CASPER result doesn’t come out until next month.
