Hi this is my first time posting on this website and I wasn't sure if this was appropriate to post here, please let me know if it isn't. Does anyone know when Medstart interview invites for Toledo come out? I know in other years it seems to have come around this time.

I also applied to MedStart and have not heard anything. I emailed them yesterday and they said they are almost done reviewing apps and will get back to us "soon".

It makes me so worried that this thread is so quiet!! Has anyone received A? I hoping so hard for an acceptance here.
There have been at least 6 As according to cycletrack but I feel like that is an extremely small and biased sample size. Hoping more II and As to come, also losing my mind as well ahhhhh Best of luck!!

I interviewed mid October and they said decisions would take ~ 8 weeks. Said they were hoping to let us know before Christmas!

Is the format 8 MMI interviews, and they give you 8 minutes per question to discuss with your interviewer (2 hours total) ?
IIRC it was 8 MMI interviews with 10 minutes per question total, 8 to discuss, and then you get moved to the next room

This might be a dumb question, but since the interviews are virtual MMIs, can we use a notepad to write down our ideas in the 2 minutes we get to prepare for each scenario?

I absolutely did! I used the one they sent us and just made sure to tell each of my interviewers that I was writing down notes 😊

Thank you so much! When I was practicing, I found it a lot easier to come up with a structured response when I jotted down a quick outline.

Good luck to all of us interviewing soon, I just hope we are actually interviewing for spots in the class and not the waitlist haha

For those that have experience in MMI interviews in general, is it better to finish an answer before the allotted time to allow for follow up questions, or should I aim to take up the entire time? Given that both lead to quality responses

Answer the question as fully as possible (considering multiple points, etc) without significantly repeating yourself, maybe just summarize your main points at the end of your response. This should leave a few minutes for follow-ups, banter, or maybe a bit of an extra break before your next station! Some prompts really just do not need the full time, while other times you might need to rush to get in all of your thoughts.

Question: Interviewed with Toledo in early December. Ad coms said expect a decision from them by Christmas Eve (a 3-4 week turnaround). It’s now the end of Jan but no word yet (going on about 7 weeks now). Should I reach out?

Are they just busy or on the fence about my application? I don't want to bug them if they need more time. On the other hand, any chance I slipped through the cracks and they...forgot? That doesn't happen, right...

I enjoyed my interviewers and everyone seemed friendly, warm, and helpful. I could see myself there.

Or just wait longer. Are they just busy? Or that they’re on the fence about my application and waiting for someone better before accepting or rejecting me? I don't want to annoy them by bugging them if they need more time. On the other hand, any chance I slipped through the cracks and they...forgot? That doesn't happen, right...

I interviewed today and they told us to expect eight to ten weeks of waiting, so maybe wait a bit longer for you before reaching out

UTCOM is very holistic in its admissions process. Know several people in my class who interviewed much later and got the A. They are interviewing you for a reason, remember that!

back when i interviewed a few years ago in the beginning of November, it was an 8 week turn around. I’d give it some extra time before reaching out, reviewers are probs still behind from the holidays.

Hello, I typically never post on forums but was hoping to get some insight. I had my interview on 12/06 and was told I would hear back in 8-10 weeks. It's been 9 weeks and while I know there's still time, I was wondering if anyone who had an interview around that time has gotten an acceptance.

Same here. Very similar to you in terms of timing too. Haven't heard back. Have you?

Does anyone know if Toledo pulls a lot from their waitlist? I got waitlisted in early January and wanted to get an idea lol

I don't know the exact stats for WL to A, but according to admit.org ( Medical School Statistics – Admit.org ) there is an 82% post-I acceptance rate which is quite high and I am guessing means a good amount come off WL.

Also according the MSAR they waitlist 50-100, grant 20 off WL, and "Waitlist applicants will be considered up until early the firstday of Orientation. The number of applicants accepted from the waitlist varies from year to year." I have never understood how there is a column for acceptances granted off WL when the details say the # varies, maybe it means 20 are guaranteed to come of WL?
https://students-residents.aamc.org/system/files/2025-01/MSAR009 - MSAR Waitlist Procedures.pdf

Also, based off a quick look at who has been accepted so far, there have been a lot of pretty high stat applicants with multiple other acceptances from higher ranked institutions. That isn't to say they won't all choose toledo, but the odds that everyone will is low...

I would say overall, my educated *GUESS* is a lot come off WL.

Last year, candidates who interviewed on your date received their results on 12/26.
So I didn’t hear incorrectly during Interview Day when they said decisions would be in around Christmas for those of us who interviewed around the first week of December.

This is interesting by to know. I guess they may have been trying to follow last year’s timeline.

Oh wow that's a bit concerning.
Brother/sister, I’m still in the same boat as you. Interviewed around a similar time. Patiently waiting to hear back. I’d rather not rush them. Have no idea how their ad coms may work. So I’ve decided not to email to inquire just yet. But your course of action is up to you of course.

My interview was on 11/26 and they told us we’d hear back the last week of January and I got WL the first week of January. Just seems like they are a bit unorganized
