It's a total black box whether they read your app or use cutoffs.
Wait, if you're a third-time reapplicant, this is your fourth cycle, right? UCLA only allows 2 reapplications, so 3 applications total. If they are strict on that, you might not get a secondary.

OOS secondary. Strong ties, lived in LA county until I was 18. Primary app verified on 6/21. UCLA received email on 7/10

Does anyone know if you apply to one of their pathway programs if they see your responses when they are reviewing their secondary? Or if they don't even look at them unless you are accepted as normal MD first?

For those that have secondaries already, do you already have your PREview scores?
No, but the schools might have received them first (like with CASPer). My applicant took PREView around 6/15, and AAMC says it takes a month. So not sure.

did anyone apply to PRIME-LA? I don't see a section to complete for it on the secondary application?
I think that's the Urban Health Equity program now.
The secondary portal for UCLA doesn't list PREview as a requirement. I think they'll review your application without it and take it into consideration whenever it's available. @doctorellewoods
I THINK UCLA is experimenting with PREview this year. If I recall correctly, some of the schools that discontinued CASPer required it for their school but didn't need it for your application to be complete.

does anyone know if the COVID prompt is necessary to fill out? It doesn't say optional but it does say the page is complete without me filling it out. I didn't write a covid prompt bc by the time I got to college things were mostly back to normal so it really hasn't impacted my journey to medical school that much. I guess I could write something but not sure if it's necessary. If anyone has any insight on if it would look bad if I didn't write anything let me know.

no, i got that email and got the secondary a few days afterwards. but i've heard the screening is more selective than other schools + requirements are holistic so no idea who gets one
