Wow, just got in off the waitlist IS. Not really sure what to do here. Just signed my lease for UTMB 😂. Anyone have any wisdom/advice on which to choose? Thank you

Happier in Galveston or SA? Both are awesome schools
Me personally i would chose UTSA, but UTMB is compeltely fine choice. If you're financially hampered UTMB will still get you to where you need to go.
in MY OPINION, i missed a lot of factors
Utmb
Pros
pass fail preclerk
very strong network and historically strong match and connections
beach, if you like that
Good and strong home residences, can stay in galveston for both undergraduate med school and residency
aerospace, if you care
generally more chill preclerk?
Cons
Have to travel sometimes for clerkships
no pmnr!
stuck on an island if you dont like that, can take 30 mins to leave island
no sports teams nearby
UTSA
Pros
pmnr!
san antonio spurs!
san antonio generally more appealing city
hospitals are centralized in one area, dont have to move for clerkships
Good and strong home residences, can stay in san antonio for both undergraduate med school and residency
students seem well balanced however!
Cons
graded curriculum
can be more stressful preclerk if want to be top of class
due to higher mcat average, on average slightly stronger students, can be more competitive if you want to gun for competitive clerkship
not as well known as UTMB, connections may not be as strong
