Does anyone know if Yale will match financial aid offers/scholarship offers? How open are they to negotiation?

Not very. They will not match any merit aid, but if you have other need-based aid from other schools they will take that into consideration. That being said, I went in and met with them and submitted a request for review even though not much had changed for me financially, and got an extra 12k out of it, so it's worth a shot!

Does anyone know how much movement there has been in the GroupMe with new people joining? Just want to get a sense of if the majority of the waitlist offers have already gone out

I think 10 people have joined since May 1st. IDK if they're all from the waitlist though? The groupme is at ~150 admitted students.
(admin has not been adding or removing people)

Thanks! I'm not too optimistic that there will be more movement based on the initial numbers they gave us but you never know!
 
Did the MSTP waitlist movement start? Can anyone confirm whether or not they have taken people off the waitlist for the MSTP yet?

As of today 9 since 5/1. But a decent amount leaving too so probably still more movement to happen
 
Is waitlist movement done here? Has the groupme added more people beyond the confirmed 9?

Like 6 more people joined today, I think probably there's going to be some cycle of offers go out, people accept or decline, and the cycle repeats until the class is full. I personally wouldn't put too much stock in the actual groupme numbers because the class size is definitely way closer to 100 than 150, and there's 170 people in the groupme now, only 18 or so are current students. Admin is just not controlling the groupchat, so it can't be an indicator of how many spots are open.
 
Got confirmation from Yale admissions for MSTP if anyone else wondering "In full transparency, our MDPhD class is currently full, and it's unlikely we will make any more offers"
 
For people that got off the WL recently, until when did they give you to make a decision? TIA!
 
Just wanted to give an update for anyone who hasn't seen and for future applicants looking back at this thread. The portal says that the class is currently fully enrolled and that they have no "imminent" plans to make additional offers. As positions come up in the next 5-6 weeks they will make offers as they occur
