Is there now a character limit on responses? I thought there wasn't one yesterday but looking at the portal today and seeking a max character limit of 2500 on some of the prompts?

I believe it was always a character count. I submitted the first day I got it and when I tried to submit one response that was over 2500 characters it stated that it was complete. But when I cut it down to below 2500 characters it allowed me to submit all the responses and have the page complete.

Has anyone recieved interview invites yet? And if so, about how long did it take after submitting the secondary to hear back?

A friend interviewed last Wednesday and got called with an A Thursday morning. They told the interview group they would receive a call with an A or an email with a hold/wl or rejection by Friday. It sounded like if you are wl, then you are pushed to the next interview group to be re-reviewed with them. I wish all schools turned them around so quickly.

IS (had my interview yesterday) and got an email that said, I'm "under active consideration". What does this really mean? Is it just waitlist? If so, does UofSC have a lot of waitlist movement?

It’s the prewaitlist, they decide whether to officially waitlist or reject in the spring. Yes UofSC has historically had a decent amount of waitlist movement.

Wow, I assumed it was basically an automatic waitlist with the chance of being accepted prior to that. Is it common for people to be outright rejected after being "under active consideration"?

it means they are likely going to discuss you and other recent interviewees at their next committee meeting
